People aren’t getting what this article is really about.

It’s not about McConnell losing to Grimes. It’s about McConnell winning against Grimes, but losing his leadership position if the GOP doesn’t take the Senate.

The article is designed to put a bug in the ear of Conservatives OUTSIDE KY that they can effectively vote against McConnell by voting against the GOP Senate candidate running in their states.

IOW, want McConnell gone? Vote against Tillis. Or Pat Roberts. Or the GOP candidates running in AR, LA, etc.

What the Dems and MSM are trying to do is nationalize the election around McConnell, just as with the Koch Brothers. Persuade Conservatives everywhere to stay home as a protest against McConnell and show the GOPe we mean business by preventing a GOP senate.

“No to compare the state of affairs in this country now to Nixon era is intellectually dishonest.”

I don’t get your point there. How am I being intellectually dishonest?

They already did during the McRomney race.

Not enough stayed home to send a message. Sure, there were enough to make him lose, but he should have lost in a landslide. That didn't happen either. When the GOPe annointed begin losing in spectacular fashion, the message will be sent.

How is it you can not comprehend that even if we had the house and the senate, indeed, nothing would change?

Glad to know ur historical slant..perhaps you should steer your interest in it towards transcribing today and tomorrow.

Something tells me recording of such will be quite embattled.

If polls later show us riding high near election time then by all means, don’t let Mc win if you want to prove a point. But as things stand, it’s too close.

My point about the Nixon era was that the GOP looked finished. You said we are finished now. Back then the left had complete media control and villified the GOP mercilessly. But not all republicans were evil.

Today, I say to you ...

NOT ALL REPUBLICANS ARE EVIL.

I’m more of a history enthusiast. Can you promise me a majority in the senate without Mc?

History? How bout 2000-2006, when the R's held the House, Senate and WH. We got the Patriot Act and bailouts, among other legislation devastating to America. Did we solve the immigration issue? Did we reduce spending? Did we pass actual, real life health care reform (instead of just insurance reform)? No, the R's got the majority, and did absolutely nothing with it. In fact, in many cases, the R's in the majority were chomping at the bit to "reach across the aisle" and all you hear about is "bipartisanship" BS.

But hey, this time will be different, right?

And vote for Land in Michigan. After Bitchy Mitchy et al decided to stop help funding her campaign this week.
they decided pushing Thad across the finish line was more important.

When she wins, I can’t see her voting for Mitch for leader.

If McConnell is trash, she’s nuclear g*ddamn waste. She and her boyfriends Harry and Barry are a threat to civilization.

“How is it you can not comprehend that even if we had the house and the senate, indeed, nothing would change?”

That’s better than what Obama has planned. Even if McConnell were a clone of Harry Reid, he still has to work legislation through numerous other republican senators and through the new House.

The one thing we can’t stop is the Lame Duck. I’m more concerned about that than I am about McConnell being majority leader.

Absolutely. Write your own name in because being silent is acquiescence. Seriously.

Look into the Constitution party, too.

You jump to unwarranted conclusions. McConnell is infinitely to be preferred over Grimes as a Senator from KY. BUT...I say but...he has no business whatsoever being in leadership.

“We got the Patriot Act and bailouts”

We also had a president and congress which defended us from terror and disease. After the 9—11-01 sucker punch, we nailed those SOBs and Lybia voluntarilly gave us its WMD stock. We developed predator drones. What is being developed now? Troops playing ‘doctor’ in Ebola tents and Iraq on the verge of collapse.

We had tax cuts. We had a much lower deficit than today. And if it weren’t for the DNC, we would have prevented the housing bubble/meltdown of ‘08.

And back then, where was Obama-care? NOWHERE.

Where was comprehensive immigration? Blocked by a thousand-pound gorrilla.

Back then, the internet was still young. We’ve matured. Will it be better? I don’t know. But I can promise you this:

If we don’t win the senate and keep the House, we will be MUCH worse off two years from now.

I can understand the Tea Party wanting to make an example of McConnell, to ‘lop off a Ruling Class King’s head’ as it were, but we need to win the senate more.

“Not enough stayed home to send a message” [when Romney lost].

Anyone who expected even more republicans to want Obama to win had really unreasonable goals.
