(CNN) -- Not long ago, Kaci Hickox was fighting Ebola in West Africa, doing what she could to treat those with the deadly disease. Now, she's in the middle of a different fight -- in the middle of Maine.
A Maine official said late Wednesday afternoon that the state is in the process of filing a court order to require Hickox to abide by a 21-day quarantine. This measure is meant to prevent her from spreading Ebola, given her hands-on role with the deadly virus.
In a written statement, Gov. Paul LePage said Hickox "has been unwilling to follow the protocols set forth by the Maine CDC and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control for medical workers who have been in contact with Ebola patients." The statement didn't say which protocols she was resisting but added LePage is seeking legal authority to enforce a quarantine.

If she won’t comply send her back to Liberia w/o a yellow suit or helmet.
Separated at birth?
Good luck, Maine.
Another one arrived in Austin, TX this morning and was asked to self quarantine. We’ll see how fast she makes a soup run. We’ve yet to see one, just one, make it the full 21 days without sneaking out. Geez, it’s not that hard. Great time to R&R, exercise, catch up on your reading, play video games, clean out the garage and attic, spring clean the house, get the home office in order, organize the computer, try out new recipes and sleep.
Mayonnaise hair like Debbie Schultz...that freakazoid rat.
Leftists are self-centered and care only for themselves. Her 15 minutes in the spotlight are over. Now it’s time to give her her 21 day quarantine. If only we could find a way to quarantine low information voters from voting every election cycle we would be a great nation again.
Rather than physically arrest her, wouldn’t State Cops have legitimate grounds to shoot her if she violates her probation period? Fear for “their safety”....
Does the state have the right to take away her nursing license?
If I were a younger man I’d take a flame thrower to this place...
Pathogens do not care about civil rights.
I doubt Ebola is it, but sooner or later we will be hit with a highly contagious and lethal disease. The only way to stop it before it gets away from us is immediate and ruthless application of well-known public health measures. Which we won't be able to do because people won't trust, perhaps with good reason, the health authorities who will be needed to coordinate this effort. Such an effort, by definition, must be rigorously and centrally controlled, which means the fedreral government.
So it will get away from us and thousands or millions of Americans will die.
LePage will not tolerate her nonsense. He will find a way to enforce the quarantine or he will forcibly exile her from the state, sorting out the legalities down the road. Nothing that is said by the WH, obola, or jarrett will have any impact. This little girl is not on receptive turf for this type of act.
Hence, medical martial law.
Most defiantly. Unprofessional conduct.
Doesn’t she work for the CDC? Does the CDC actually run hospitals and doctors and nurses? I thought they were a regulatory agency. I know she was an RN by schooling, but was she over there as a nurse employed by the CDC? Something doesn’t smell right.

That is exactly what would be needed. If the public health measures are going to stop the spread of an epidemic.
With such measures, there is no “almost good enough.” You entier stop it or you don’t.
Ebola is deadly enough to be the disease that would require such measures, but it isn’t nearly contagious enough.
Of attempted genocide.
