'It will be ugly': GOP Senate win to ax hundreds of Democratic jobs

With projections of a GOP win growing daily, nervousness in Senate committee offices has turned to panic as an army of Democratic staffers braces to be fired, replaced by a Republican majority and their aides.

The spoils of political war? Estimates are that 300-600 Democratic committee and personal staff jobs would be on the chopping block if the Republicans pull off the expected victory.

“There will be a mass exodus of Senate Democrat staff from committees,” said one insider.

And Republicans will get to hire hundreds more aides. A loss on Tuesday that keeps the Democrats in charge of the Senate will cost no GOP jobs, other than those working for retiring lawmakers.

Under a Senate deal cut by Majority Leader Harry Reid and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, the funding and staff breakdown on committees is about 60 percent for the majority, and 40 percent for the minority. It had been two-thirds majority, one-third minority, but the GOP cut the deal in order to keep their minimum funding at 40 percent.

Also getting hit would be the offices of Reid and other Democratic leaders.

For Democratic staffers, the potential layoffs couldn’t come at a worse time. According to officials, some will find jobs in the Obama administration, but those openings are few and will last only two years. And Hillary Clinton’s team is already loaded up with long-time aides, leaving few policy jobs for outsiders.

"There will be nowhere in the downtown private sector to go. Maybe 10 percent can find a slot in the Obama administration. It will be ugly," said a former White House aide now working on K Street.

That's because many lobbying firms are full-up with Democrats.

And there are already a sizable number of Democratic staffers already looking for work since their bosses are retiring.

“It could be a lot of individuals. And that’s not even counting all the people looking for work now with a retirement coming up,” said a key Senate Democratic staffer.

I hope they go through and remove all the political officers in the vast left wing bureaucracy.

Right. The RINOs won’t hire them like they always have and cite ‘continuity and experience’ for the decision.

Anyone questioning it should do a search. They go back and forth regularly.

Not to worry. Most of these philosophical chameleons and eunuchs will find new “jobs”.

HOUSTON, WE STILL HAVE A PROBLEM!

What is to be done about the HILL RATS? These are the allegedly “professional” staffers who are so named because after the election their current boss loses, they scurry like rats to a new member – ANY MEMBER (his politics frequently don’t matter) – just to remain close to the power. Most are flaming liberals and, after the “experienced” staffer shows the new guy where the john is, because they have been up there for decades, far too many of these new members rely on them for how to vote and get along in the thoroughly corrupt system of “you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours” that has caused the mess in which we now find ourselves.

IT GETS WORSE!

Let’s say the new guy needs an “expert” on tax policy. Well, son-of-a-gun, the professional staffer JUST HAPPENS to have a college chum who works at the IRS! Need an “expert” on education policy. Darned if that secretary he just hired doesn’t just have an old teacher friend who works over at the Department of Education!

NOW YOU KNOW WHY THE MORE THINGS CHANGE, THE MORE THEY STAY THE SAME – ESPECIALLY IN MALFUNCTION JUNCTION.

Looks like we will also need TENURE LIMITS on the Hill Rats with stiff penalties for breaking the rules!

I recently heard Gingrich tell Hannity that—horrors — the alleged Health Care Bill was almost certainly written at 3 am by 25 year-old liberal staffers, groggy on beer and pizza. Not sure why that was so shocking. HELL, that’s how nearly ALL the so-called legislation has been done up there for decades. It’s why there are two things one should never watch being made: SAUSAGE AND LAWS.

One of the KEY THINGS we all need to do BEFORE we get behind a new candidate to replace the 8 term retread who has sold us out nearly every term up there is to INSIST THAT HE DRAW HIS KEY STAFFERS FROM LOCAL FOLKS WHO MAY STILL HAVE A GRASP ON REALITY OUT HERE IN FLYOVER COUNTRY — THEN HOLD HIS FEET TO THE FIRE ON THAT PLEDGE — OR REPLACE HIM NEXT TIME!

Sadly, it’s the ONLY WAY THINGS WILL CHANGE UP THERE!!

Ugly? Actually, it will be quite glorious! Damn near delicious. These people have ruined the country and need to see the horrible job market they created.

One of Bill Clinton’s first acts as President was to fire EVERY US Attorney in this country. I’m pretty sure Obama did this, too.

Frankly, firing 600 dogmatic, ideological terrorists that support the Democrat demons in Congress is not nearly enough.

Line up at the soup kitchen suckers.

” ... an army of Democratic staffers braces to be fired ... “

So that’s why they’re pushing for the minimum wage to go up. I still believe they would be overpaid at minimum wage.

Lets hope that it is even more bloody than their worse nightmares.

The unemployment rate will go up as these worthless low life left wingers are terminated and slink off to their feral breeding swamp lands.

I seem to recall 1994 when the pubbies took the House and democrats were having tantrums on the TV demanding committee chairmanship positions be “shared” with them since a republican majority was “unfair”.

If I were a Republican coming in on the majority, there’d be no DEAL...I’ve fire all of them I could that had a “D” attached to them. Harry Reid threw all that “agreement” stuff out the window as far as I’m concerned.

If the unemployment rate doesn’t change, then the losses are statistically insignificant.

Will the Democrat political operatives in the State Department, HHS, HUD, and other agencies finally be cut?

That's a common practice, goes back decades. Bush did too. I looked it up.
