I can no longer find the source for that number. I remember is that it is a news source linked to often on FR, so I’m sure they were reporting the amount as accurately as they had.

However, I think I’ll leave that part out from now on, it simply distracts from the point I’m trying to make.

They didn’t fool anyone. The majority was against Obamacare. They just didn’t care. They shoved it down our throats anyway.

Gruber should be forced to repay the $400,000 for perpetrating FRAUD.

how did this many people not understand who these people are?
The numbers were always rigged and the GAO even said so, I believe we kept hearing “we can only work with the numbers they give us” or something to that effect. They offered up enough scenarios with multiple variations and like the room filled with monkeys and typewriters, they were eventually going to find the magic combination.

the only way they could possibly make it work was to lie.

I believe the same guy was the architect of Mitt Romney’s socialized health care plan in Massachusetts. So, he was as closely tied to Romney as Obama. That says something.

Gruber was under contract to the Dept. of Health and Human Services while Sebelius was in charge. He also helped in the crafting of Romneycare.

During the 1997–1998 academic year, Gruber was on leave as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Economic Policy at the Treasury Department. From 2003–06 he was a key architect of Massachusetts' healthcare reform. In 2006 he became an inaugural member of the Health Connector Board, the main implementing body for that effort. In that year, he was named the 19th most powerful person in health care in the United States by Modern Healthcare magazine. During the 2008 election he was a consultant to the Clinton, Edwards and Obama presidential campaigns.

Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act

In 2009–10 Gruber served as a technical consultant to the Obama Administration and worked with both the administration and Congress to help craft the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, often referred to as the ACA or "Obamacare". The act was signed into law in March 2010, and Gruber has been described as an "architect", "writer", and "consultant" of the legislation. He was widely interviewed and quoted during the roll-out of the legislation.

In January 2010, after news emerged that Gruber was under a $297,000 contract with the Department of Health and Human Services, while at the same time promoting the Obama administration's health care reform policies, some conservative commentators suggested a conflict of interest. While he did disclose his HHS connections in an article for the New England Journal of Medicine, his oversight in doing this earlier was defended in the New York Times .

One heavily-scrutinized part of the ACA reads that subsidies should be given to healthcare recipients who are enrolled "through an Exchange established by the State". Some have read this to mean that subsidies can be given only in states that have chosen to create their own healthcare exchanges, and do not use the federal exchange, while the Obama administration says that the wording applies to all states. This dispute is currently part of an ongoing series of lawsuits referred to collectively as King v. Burwell. In July 2014, two separate recordings of Gruber, both from January 2012, surfaced in which he seemed to contradict the administration's position. In one, Gruber states, in response to an audience question, that "if you’re a state and you don’t set up an exchange, that means your citizens don’t get their tax credits", while in the other he says, "if your governor doesn't set up an exchange, you’re losing hundreds of millions of dollars of tax credits to be delivered to your citizens." When these recordings emerged, Gruber called these statements mistaken, describing them as "just a speak-o — you know, like a typo".

In October 2013, while discussing the means and tactics for passing the Obama administration's health care reform policies, Gruber stated that obfuscation, as well as the "stupidity of the American voter", was critical for passage of the legislation because "lack of transparency is a huge political advantage." His comments caused controversy after a video of them was placed on YouTube in November, 2014.........
