There was time I like this guy, back in his days as the Secretary of the Navy under Reagan. Don’t know why he chose to go over to the dark side but he’s probably going nowhere fast in this effort against the PIAPS.

Webb would be an interesting candidate. He would lose enthusiasm from the urban progressive gentry (Obama’s base), but pick up a big slice of white middle class voters.

Is he going to pick Alan Greyson as his running mate so no one mistakes either one with “The sane one”?

PIAPS will probably bribe him with another cabinet-level post if he stands down.

The man will be 70 years old in 2016. But of these bunch of potential clowns:

Hillary,
Elizabeth Warren,
Joe Biden,
Al Gore,

I think he’s the least unacceptable.

No. He was a %100 Dem vote in the Senate, his cover is blown.

Besides he’s nuts.

He’ll be the Democrat John Huntsman. Won’t get 2% of the vote.

The only halfway-interesting candidate of the bunch. Plus, unlike Hillary, Webb actually wrote all his own books.

Ahh, another who wants to draw two years of presidential salary - maybe he’ll get somewhere but the main call is nearly a million in cash transferred from his campaign to his personal account.

Besides he’s nuts.

Yup, just marginally more rational than Alan Greyson. He's also the piece of garbage who let his "friend and fellow veteran" go to jail for carrying Webb's gun into the Capitol building.

He’s a wing nut, but all the donk candidates are, so the more the merrier. Want to see him debate Hillary.

Precisely.

Will pretend to be a moderate.

US Senate voting record solidly liberal.

Be great if he runs as Independent in 2016 and pulls votes from Democrats.

I agree progressives would not be excited to support him in the primaries. Clinton pulled off the "moderate" Democrat because he convinced the uber left that winning was more important than ideology. Democrats just lost 3 presidential elections and majorities in Congress were being chipped away.

The left sucked it up and we had sister souljah, Jesse Jackson and Carter not at the convention and the NEW Democrat movement. Although Clinton gave the uber left a seat at the table, they felt they had a back seat. They began to slowly purge moderates in congress. By 2004, Howard Dean so effectively rallied the urber left via anti-war movement, the Moderate Democrat either real or imaginary was dead.

IMHO, there is not enough moderates in the Democratic Party or people willing to pretend to be moderate to muster up a presidential run.

He’ll be lucky to get 5% in Iowa. The hardcore left wants a woman for president so it’s going to come down to Lizzie and Hillary. What I’m interested in seeing is what will Hillary do if Liz overtakes her in the primaries. Knowing it’s her last shot and that a third party bid won’t get it done I wanna see how she and the rest of the Clintonoids go after Warren. As for Webb, he needs to go write another book or two. His presidential bid will be over in short order.

I think this guy will end up being Hillary’s running mate. It will be interesting to see if he goes after her at all. If he does not, but is somewhat popular he may be her VP pick (although I really think she will pick one of the Castro brothers). Webb would bring a sense of toughness on foreign policy and defense, she will need that after her screw ups...

Exactly.

Sen. Chief Spreading Bull D-MA has become the new rock star of the far left activists who dominate the Dem primaries these days. She will play the same role Barry Soetoro (or BS as I prefer to call him) did in 2008. A new hero for the Left and an alternative to establishment Bonnie and Clod.

I’m Scots-Irish, so I enjoyed that book. I’ll give him that. Webb is a liberal, but to his credit, unlike the other names I am seeing tossed around, I don’t think he’s a Marxist. I also think he was born in the USA, can document it, and that he loves his country, so he has that going for him, too. I figure a Webb presidency would be much like the progressive presidencies of Romney, Christie, or Bush III, so I’m totally against it.
