The beleaguered inhabitants of Raqqa, self-proclaimed capital of the Islamic State (Isis), are suffering widespread hunger, crippling inflation, chronic power shortages and poverty so acute that emergency soup kitchens have been set up.
With no journalists, local or foreign, able to operate inside Syria’s sixth-largest city, courageous local activists have given the Observer a detailed account of life under the jihadists’ totalitarian regime, a rare glimpse of everyday life in the city.
Their testimony reveals the evolution of a community brutally divided into haves and have-nots, with Isis enjoying well-resourced services including “private” hospitals and a relatively high standard of living as many residents struggle to make ends meet.
Crucifixions of Isis opponents have taken place in Raqqa’s Paradise Square, as well as frequent beheadings and lashings for offences as minor as smoking a cigarette. Abu Ibrahim Raqqawi, founder of a network of activists called Raqqa Is Being Slaughtered Silently, told the Observer: “Isis kills a lot of people, we see a lot of executions, a lot of beheadings. I have seen about five people crucified in the city. People are now calling Paradise Square Hell Square.”

They don’t seem to care too much even then. Obama drops a few bombs and says “there, I’m fixing the problem”, and they all nod like bobble heads and go back to complaining about gay marriage.
Wouldn’t it be amazing to see the left direct 10% of the venom it has for Christianity or anything traditionally American against Islam?
Yet the people of this town allow these vermin to control them. Rise up and kill your oppressors or let them continue to abuse you.

The Afghans lived under the Taliban for years under conditions that were not much better. Many would still gladly return to Taliban rule despite knowing what its like.
They wanted Jihad—let them revel in it.

Why?
1. Reflexive hatred of the culture in which they were raised. If Muslims act badly, it is only because of Western “oppression” or Zionism.
2. Disconnection from reality due to years of indoctrination (vs. education). They seemingly cannot think critically, unless the subject is how to advance their agenda.
3. Muslims vote D while devout Christians tend to vote R. This last part is by far the most important of the three.
Welcome to the true Islam that our politicians refer to as the religion of peace.

Raqqa Syria needs to be leveled by B-52 air strikes , with not a stone left standing . Sorry about that civilians , but as in other wars there are some costs that those occupied by arch evil doers end up paying . Raqqa needs to be wiped off the map entirely . All in one night , not some gradual measured attack that allows the IS leadership to escape .
Who will do this ? America under it’s ‘new’ leadership .

Paradise ?
It's a little complicated; but I don't think that actually bothers them. Leftists are always eager to throw each other under the bus, to benefit themselves. Plus, the journo who was beheaded was "some other journo" - not them. And they get to claim victim status; "Look - they're murdering us!!!!".
I seriously don't think it bothers them until it happens to them personally.
Duh, yeah! Them dudes is really messed up! they murder, maim, burn and destroy. Then they has nothing to eat, cuz they is too busy inflicting violence. Are we supposed to feel sympathy for the bearded savages?
