The cops will start looking the other way if they haven’t started already.
Let the idiot liberals fend for themselves.
I side with the officer defending himself from Michael Brown.
The stupidity of the cigarette tax, him not doing anything unlawful (he had no cigarettes on his person) observed by the officer, or threatening others, I think it was negligent manslaughter.
Chokeholds are barred and the man says he can’t breath. Stop! Just put on the cuffs. I know cops have emotions but they over reacted here.
There’s an interesting dynamic where posters on FR are afraid of militarized police, police state, losing our rights, etc. and then here’s an example of a man killed by police for selling untaxed cigarettes and excuses are made?
Am I the only one seeing the contradiction?
De Blasio is a phony (heck, even his name is fake) and a dim bulb who is entirely controlled by whoever he thinks can keep him in power. He’s decided that the aforementioned would be a combination of his wife and Al Sharpton, in other words, the race card, so he’s going to go for it.
Garner resisted arrest and a cop dragged him back with an arm around his neck; a “chokehold” is something different and is literally holdng somebody around the throat in such a way that they can be throttled if the pressure is increased or even maintained.
Garner had been arrested for this several times before, and it was essentially a quality of life crime because the sellers of loosies attract bums, hoodie teenagers, etc.
The (black) neighbors had complained about the activity. Would you want somebody or several somebodies selling loosies in front of the door of your building or house?
This sounds like a setup for a friendly lawsuit and settlement along with more money and turmoil for the grievance industry.
You are correct except that he is not stupid. Stupid person cannot climb to the top of the greasy pole that is New York City politics. DeBlasio’s theme was “I have a black wife and children so elect me”. A clever way to win.
