White Flight From Southern Democrats Doomed Mary Landrieu
National Journal ^ | 12/07/2014 | SCOTT BLAND

Posted on 12/07/2014 11:01:08 AM PST by SeekAndFind

Democrats have been worried about the African-American vote in Louisiana for months. But what really doomed Sen. Mary Landrieu's reelection bid was the near-monolithic white vote against her.

Landrieu's loss Saturday to Republican Sen.-elect Bill Cassidy followed a November all-party primary in which the incumbent got a lower share of the white vote (18 percent) than all other Democratic Senate candidates in the country but one, according to exit polling. There was no exit poll Saturday night due to a lack of media interest in the runoff, perhaps because even Landrieu's campaign acknowledged that she would need at least 30 percent support from white voters to win another term, a huge jump from her baseline in November.

That's about what Landrieu received when she won her final Senate term in 2008, and her drop-off since then highlights how the white voters who used to be the Democratic Party's Southern foundation have left—and how the party has collapsed without them.

"She came home to a sea of change since she last ran," said Bernie Pinsonat, a pollster in the state. "We don't have any Democratic statewide officials, after her, left. The Legislature is now dominated by Republicans; you don't even need a Democrat to pass a bill. Next year there will be maybe 10, or maybe eight or seven white Democrats left in the entire Capitol building. There's been a mass exodus and not something that had gone unnoticed. I don't know why she ran for reelection."

Are they trying to insinuate that Whitey McCracker-Honkey is racist against Whitey P. Politician?

You can only poke a stick in a giants eye so long, then it’s so long to you. This country is obviously fed up with this administration and all it stands for.

Look at the bright side. Mary now has plenty of options open to her. She can spend more time with the family or Barry can give her an ambassadorship where she can host parties for some turd world freeloaders or she can take O’Donnell’s job on “The View”.

Radical professional racism is finally sinking itself. But these maggots will keep making their Fergusons.

Quote from the article: “There’s been a mass exodus and not something that had gone unnoticed. I don’t know why she ran for reelection.”

The pollster misses the point. If Landrieu and other Louisiana Democrats had represented the interests of the majority of the citizens of the state, instead of carrying out the progressive agenda of northern and western Democrats, they’s have remained in office.

Democrats - - the party of black people and first generation illegals.

If you're the kind of person who wants to live in a black ‘community’ you’re a democrat. It's not just 'white flight' that's going on - it's Asian, Hispanic, Jewish, women etc 'flight'...

The Democrats are becoming blackened.

They’re literally a minority party. The white stool in the rainbow coalition has literally dropped off.

That leaves the Democrats between a rock and a hard place. If a third of black voters start defecting, they’re finished.

Its a long way to Tipperary.

“Sharpton and his band of haters have been good to us...”

don’t forget Obama, but also the popular culture that tries to push social engineering down our throats. from the movies (like elyseum), that try to portray whites as ugly, to tv commercials that have to show interracial couples.
espn, putting aside ex athletes, you can count on one hand, white, Christian males who are on air (and probably even less behind the camera). there’s a war on us. and so far,we are still allowed to vote.
(lol, can you see the smoke coming out of my ears)?

Same in NC.

Epitaph of the Democratic Congress: We Ignored Key Voters

"Political analyst Charlie Cook has written an article in National Journal called “Democrats Paved the Way for Their Own Decline.” It puts together some of the reasons Democrats lost so badly in the mid-term elections. He points to the fact that President Obama’s approval rating among working-class whites has fallen to 27 percent as evidence that Democrats have forgotten the priorities of their party that made it the majority after the New Deal. Building the middle class has taken a back seat to the special interest agendas of elite liberal constituencies."

I disagree. I think the Democrats have a fine strategy and should "stay the course." Keep shoving Ferguson and illegal aliens in our faces. Along with the rest of the anti-family, anti-energy, anti-Christian nonsense. You're doing just Dems.

Wait until Elijah Cummings, James Clyborn, Marcia Fudge, Sheila Jackson Lee and Hank Johnson start demanding leadership positions and become the faces of the Democratic Party to the general public...

I don’t want to demean black Americans, and there are many, who live the American lifestyle and enjoy it’s rewards. It is the entire left wing myth machine that has gotten away with blowing smoke, with the help of modern communications, about a world that does not exist.

The recent riots have only intensified a Ferguson effect, to the point where the black vote became irrelevant.

Democrats - - the party of black people and first generation illegals.

As I see it, it's the natural evolution for a part obsessed with race. The DemonRATs were (and still are) the home of the KKK, neo-Nazis, skinheads, George Wallace, Theo "The Man" Bilbo, "Cotton" Ed Smith and Gene "Bull" Connor. Only the names have changed.

Aside from the trivial matter of skin color, is there really any fundamental difference between Al Sharpton and George Wallace?

What prevents this from being a national trend? Besides journalism, of course.

Well, that and GOPe politicians . . .

Hey, does 93% of blacks voting for Obola constitute "near-monolithic"?
