I remenber the ads on wlac radio in Nashville for Royal Crown Hair Dressing! Yep, John R on "Ernie's Record Parade".
And Gene Nobels, and "Randy's Record Hi-Lights", and the commercials for Ernie's Record Mart and Randy's Record Mart.
And the live baby chicken ads: Buy 100 live baby chickens for only $1.98."
In the pre-Interstate, AM radio days, driving like mad on two lane blacktop roads to get back to base by reveille, in the wee hours on Sunday nights, 50,000 watt, clear channel WLAC was usually the only radio station we could pick up.

Id forgotten the Ernie's and the Randy's Ads...its been fifty years since I heard them.
oh for those days again. Bot the clumsy adolesance and all the mistakes i had to make to grow up ...but certainly for the common sense and social ORDER that exited back then.
whoever thought we'd end up with the "Magic Negro" in the Whitehouse

its been fifty years since I heard them. Me too -
But once you mentioned WLAC it all came back clear as a bell.
Heard some really great music for the first time on those shows.
Now those songs are old, old golden oldies.

I remember a guy named Lonesome Sundown..who I never heard enaywhere else..
A guy who recorded a song named Your Love is Like a Seesaw...was playing on WLAC years before he broke into the mass R and B market.
I was a kid who listened to almost everything back then form the classics..to R and B...and Country, Most everyone I knew thought I had flakey musical tastes

You know before the Ferguson looting, burning, sacking riots, this guy would just look like any other guy you might meet. But not he looks scary. That is what Ferguson did to me, made me less trusting and less accepting. 911 brought us all together, black white asian hispanic Christian Jew etc. The Ferguson riots have done so much to destroy USA! Or at least they tried to.
