For a member of Congress to accuse his party leaders of lying to him, and for their aides to return the favor, is about as rare as the drama that surrounded last week’s procedural vote — a vote that led to the passage of the $1.1 trillion spending bill.

Once in the limelight, Stutzman reacted by sending mixed messages and then falling as silent as the Republican leaders. He elevated the controversy Thursday night, when he claimed that his support for the rule was obtained under false pretenses.
“Earlier today, I supported the rule because I was informed by leadership that the cromnibus was dead and a short-term CR would take its place,” Stutzman said in a Thursday-evening statement after National Review Online reported on the apparent deal. “I was very surprised and even more disappointed to see the cromnibus back on the floor.”
this is on him... it’s his fault he voted the way he did for whatever reason... vote how you are going to vote... enough with the games...
This poor doofus believed the lying sacks that run the GOPe. It’s a good thing he isn’t coming back. He is far too gullible to deal with the shysters running the Boehner/McConnell syndicate.
He is paid an obscene amount of money by taxpayers to represent his district in DC.
He played for pay for more power in a corrupt system, and failed.
He should resign or be recalled by his constituents.

The cromnibus vote was as choreographed and orchestrated as a broadway musical. Right down to the breathtakingly “close” vote.
Truth time: if the votes weren’t there, the vote would have never taken place in the house. On the gop side the only question that needed sorting out was who had to take the fall and vote yes who got to vote no.
The only point that was interesting and where we got an actual indication of what portion of Congress supports conservatism was in the Senate with the rules vote. I think 22 voted with Ted Cruz? And then some of those went on to vote for the cromnibus anyway. So less than 20% were on our side.
So for all the agitation, for all the manhours, for all the resources spent, for the “landslide” victory in 2014...when push comes to shove, less than 20% of Congress gets it right. And for this we continue to vote and view electoral politics as a worthwhile use of our time and resources.

Amen. Anyone who would take a statement from these two sons of Belial at face value should not be out walking the streets, let alone casting votes on our future.
Let’s see if he votes for Bonehead for Speaker in January.

Yes, his father was dying (he died Sunday). If you are a family man/woman you’ll understand why he went home -— I understand it and certainly give him a pass on this.
So Boehner took advantage of the absence of a man whose father was dying to get the vote through the HOR? That’s a new low.

Definitely understand. He should have just said so. People would understand that explanation much better than a “family emergency”. Just wanted to know why given the timing.
I haven't seen anyone step up and say they're running against Boehner, or McConnell.
If that doesn't happen we're surely screwed because this cromnibus thing is just the first of the betrayals headed our way.
