A wanted man may have thrown four pipe bombs from a car in Southeast Portland Tuesday during a police pursuit. The person of interest is still at large.
Investigators said the same man likely led police on three other chases in the past few days.
Neal Allen Panschow, 43, was suspected of speeding away in a silver Honda Civic two-door car on Southeast Flavel Drive just after 4:40 p.m. when officers tried to pull the car over, according to Sgt. Pete Simpson of Portland police.
The driver threw what appeared to be an explosive device from the car onto the roadway, Simpson said.
Officers immediately stopped following the car and blocked all traffic around where the device was thrown.
"I heard sirens, lots of sirens," said neighbor Joe Reed. "This is the first time we've had an incident like this."
Bomb squad called to the scene found a total of four pipe bombs in the surrounding streets and yards, Simpson said.
None of the bombs exploded and all have been removed.

Some good pics of the fugitive here:
So are the Portland police restricted as to speed on a chase or maybe they can't use their radios?
They saw him toss it. Three more like it were found.
Now they address it as him being suspected of tossing them.
Did they seem him toss one or not? If they did, then he definitely tossed at least one of them.
Nah, let’s play silly word games. English is such an imprecise language...
Suspected... LMAO
