Yes, I most certainly was there, and Chief Negotiator (RIP, Herb) was certainly there in Spirit!
The deduction system is a scam
A Harvard study concluded that the tax component in the price system is 22 percent.(proven to be a lie yrs ago)So, we pay 22% taxes in our products PLUS we pay 23% tax from our income and the Fairtax says it will replace all that with a 23% sales tax PLUS give us all a check every month.Currently an average income earner gives the federal government 23 cents of every dollar they earn
Which one is the lie?
Well, Lewis, I’m certainly no tax expert. I do, however, possess a sound and logical mind (mostly!).
The Fair Tax, IMO, has always sounded too good to be true. So it probably is.

LOL, very entertaining thread!
Works just like state and local sales taxes now.Not even close. Even the (inclusive/exclusive) rate isn't calculated the same.
Never mind the increased state turned federal tax collectors(AKA IRS employees) or the broader tax base (Broader tax base means more things are taxed (not more tax payers, like you think it means).
