Bush leaving company that reportedly profited from ObamaCare

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) is resigning his position at a healthcare company that reportedly profited from ObamaCare, as he lays the groundwork for a potential 2016 run.

Bush will step down from the board of directors for Tenet Healthcare Corp., on Dec. 31, the hospital operator announced this week, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Bush earned close to $300,000 from the company in 2013, according to filings reviewed by the Los Angeles Times. He also sold $1.1 million in company stock that year.

It's the second business post Bush is leaving this month. Last week, the former governor announced he was leaving his advisory role at banking giant Barclays also at the end of the year.

Bush said earlier this month that he will "actively explore" a White House bid.

Should he run, Bush will likely face a crowded GOP field, with potential candidates including Sens. Rand Paul (Ky.), Marco Rubio (Fla.), Ted Cruz (Texas) and outgoing Gov. Rick Perry (Texas).

His business record and positions on high-paying corporate boards could attract attacks from fellow Republicans and Democrats, reminiscent of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (R). The 2012 GOP nominee spent much of the campaign defending his long tenure at Bain Capital as rivals sought to paint him as a wealthy, out-of-touch businessman.

Bush's ties to Tenet could similarly draw attention, with the company claiming growth from ObamaCare.

Tenet President and CEO Trevor Fetter told CNBC in January that the firm would benefit from a “surge” of newly insured patients after ObamaCare. And in an August statement the company heralded a successful quarter.

“Our success at capturing incremental market share through strategic investments, service line expansion, and successfully positioning Tenet’s hospitals to benefit from key aspects of the Affordable Care Act all contributed to a great quarter," Fetter said

Bush remains on the boards of real estate investment group Rayonier Inc., personnel management company Empower Software Solutions and medical device firm CorMatrix, according to the Journal, which first reported Bush resigning from Tenet Healthcare.

A Bush spokesman defended his business work to the Los Angeles Times, saying that he had worked to help grow companies.

"These are all growth investments that the governor has worked on," Bush spokeswoman Kristy Campbell told the paper.

He may also be getting ready to leave America once the economic collapse really takes hold.

Is it because he is, as Rubio said today, a true conservative?

Neat

What’s interesting is, he’s soaked up those profits since 2013, and now that he wants to run, he’s suddenly aware it was a pro-obamacare company? Kinda follows the “all is legal unless you get caught.

We don’t need another Bush, or a non-transparent self-indulgent asshole in the whitehouse.

If he runs, I’ll stay home.

Jeb Bush is the best hope Democrats have of becoming the the majority party in the Senate in 2017. Millions of people will stay home in November 2016.

Support Bush (/s) the Democrats best bet in 2016.

Tenet is going to have to quadruple Jeb’s salary now that he has resigned.

ObamaCare has been exposed as a fraud perpetrated against the American people, so how can voters be expected to support a presidential candidate like Jeb Bush who has now been exposed as having benefitted from that fraud as a board member of the Tenet healthcare company?

No wonder Jeb Bush’s mother doesn’t want him to run for president. He’s already embarrassed his family and he hasn’t even declared his candidacy yet.

Why is he even talking about running?

The hatred on the left for the name bush will prohibit any chance

He has a small window of silly traditional republicans and ann coulter will join in most likely. And the chamber of commerce likes him
Conservatives will not be anywhere near on board

Everyone on the left will schmooze him until after a nomination they’ll turn on him like the gingerbread house witch on hansel and gretyl

He has to know all this

Just crazy

Is he just trying to collect money

Somewhere he must be earning a lot of money from amnesty, too. Is he a director at the SEIU or La Raza?

So where is the expose’ about all the Dem politicos and their spouses who have profited from Obamacare?

I hear of some dude named Gruber, but apparently he was never a leftist democrat, per the press. Must have been a true “independent”.

We will not forget Bush’s sleazy past...nope. I want him to run...he will split the RINO votes with Christy/Romney/and who ever!

I honestly beleive two states will decide if we get a conservative or if we get the same old RINOs....SC and OH. Graham is running for pres just to try to get the “hometown boy” vote...and dilute the Republican base. The GOPe knows this and they have to shut down SC Graham and the GOPe know he will never win but they have to try to limit the conservative influence. Same can be said with OH...Portman running is a complete joke...but the principle is the same.

Overall it appears at this time we conservatives are in better shape than we belive. Bring Bush and his scum on!
