GOP lawmakers preparing changes to immigration system (the smell of betrayal is in the air)
Fox News ^ | December 27, 2014

Interest in reforming the immigration law remains high as Republican lawmakers prepare bills that would make changes to the current system.

President Obama received harsh criticism after proposing an executive action steering clear from congressional approval to halt deportation for nearly four million immigrants. However, Republicans remain up to the task to enact their own proposals into the bill.

Yes, you are correct. In the early 20th century immigration was halted in response to public outcry.

Today the public can protest all they want. It will not change anything. There are actions that can stop Obama’s executive actions and congressional actions. The former can be halted in days while the latter in a year at best.

this fox crap smells like another trial balloon that Murdoch and his pals Ryan and bonehead and mitchy tossed out there to gather the reaction.

We will see many more soon.

I completely agree. There is definitely a faction here that wants to burn it all down. I don’t see how that possibly leads to something better than we have now. I ask again, how in the world are we conservatives going to obtain political power by refusing to participate, i.e. not voting, or by forming political third parties on the margins?

As you wrote, “No one with a brain advocates voting R at all costs...” None of the bomb throwers have yet shown me a viable alternative to reforming the GOP. Maybe they think constant pessimism and bomb throwing at the GOP (ignoring the Democrats of course), is going to make the situation better.

RE:”GOP lawmakers preparing changes to immigration system”

And this time with the primaries and election over they might just get something passed on this.

Next year Bohner will have more GOP votes that he can lose on a vote and still pass something.

I don't expect anything good to come of this.

Well said. When folks intend to punish the pubbies by taking their conservatism and leave the party, this just takes one more conservative vote out of the primaries. Probably will guarantee a RINO or libtard getting nominated. I do understand their frustration and anger but their actions are wrong headed IMHO and are dangerous to the nation in the long run.

Who here is involved in their local GOP? Speaking strong on the conservative issues? Informing the local ranks? Challenging the elite’s path?

CAESAR:"Et tu, Brute?" "[And you, too, Brutus"?] Caesar calling out to Brutus as his friend Brutus and other Roman Senators suddenly and repeatedly began stabbing Caesar to death.Shakespeare play.

VOTERS WHO VOTED FOR REPUBLICANS THIS MIDTERM: "Et tu, Boehner?" Referring to how Speaker Boehner betrayed and stabbed midterm Republican voters in the back with his passage of the recent traitorous spending bill.

BOEHNER: Who is Judas? Why do people keep calling me Judas as I walk down the street? Why did someone recently leave 30 pieces of silver on my doorstep? I only want what is best for America. As my new secret friend Obama likes to say: "It was the right thing to do.God bless America!"

Considering your cunning plan just empowered the senate to the GOP, strengthened the GOP in the house and they both IMMEDIATELY refunded ALL of Obama’s evil, then turned a blind eye to Cuba and FULLY SUPPORTED amnesty, you might want to crawl under a rock with the other RINO backers rather than double down on idiocy.

Or are you being paid to keep conservatives on the plantation? One way or the other, you are as big a problem to this country as any admitted liberal since you want more of the things destroying it.

Oboma "announced" an E/O and a "signing ceremony" in Las Vegas.
Neither of which happened.

Obama was photoed signing "memos" on AF One---not an "executive action." Why? B/c an E/O comes w/ legal baggage that the conniving Boobamba wanted to evade. Both "memos" are now on the Whitehouse website.

The scam works this way: signed Boobamba memos instruct federal agency factotums to come up with plans (that must meet Boobamba's global conspiracy to overthrow the US govt w/ Third World federales and their cadres jumping the US border).

The federal agencies then "invent" Committees to do this (the better to overthrow the US govt). Then "Administrative Rules," after a comment period, will be published in the "Code of Federal Regulations," which magically turns them into law........ using federal fairy dust.

So Boobamba is shielded from responsibility---he doesn't have to take the hit. Behind closed doors, he tells federal factotums what he wants.....and faster than you can say "the combo plate w/ extra hot sauce".....the overthrow of the US govt commences.

====================================================

THE "DELEGATION" HORROR STORY--A Federal agency MO since 1946. It's down to a science: (1) publish a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM), (2) make the comment period really short, (3) stonewall any negative comments, and, (4) publish the rule, which (5) NOW has the force of US law. No Congressman was ever involved, and Boobamba doesn't leave his DNA on it. Yet again, why "Delegation" is ominous for liberty---why the writing of administrative law by federal agencies - is un-Constitutional. (Thanks to FReeper Regulator's info.)

===================================================

FREEPER ACTION NOW: Write your governor; call your state attorney general. Nullification means power to the states and power to the people.

The judiciary has consistently ruled against the nullification doctrine, asserting its unique, judicial right to declare laws unconstitutional. But this executive order isn’t a law. And given its extremely shaky legal footing, it isn’t difficult to imagine a federal bench recognizing the states’ right to disregard federal orders that don’t clearly have the force of law.

And that would be a tremendous — tremendous — blow against the executive’s assumption of legislative powers.

But in the shorter, more direct term: It would force the Obama administration to go on offense, perhaps suing the states to enforce a law........ that isn’t a law.
