Five Easy Steps To Eliminate Racism In The New Year

Choosing to hate people simply based upon the color of their skin is despicable! Likewise, presuming that all whites are inherently racist based strictly upon the color of their skin is appalling.

"How is it that Asians can succeed in America and we can't?" That was the question some of my friends and I asked ourselves as teenagers. Growing up in Los Angeles, Asian owned businesses were plentiful throughout the 'hood. Equally common was the animus blacks felt towards them. Rappers and racepreneurs like Jesse Jackson contributed to the disdain we felt for foreigners establishing their businesses on our turf. The perception was that the American dream was obtainable for other ethnic groups, just not for blacks.

To our detriment, we didn't realize it was our own racism that prevented us from understanding that Asians were simply capitalizing on the opportunities available for all Americans within our borders. Unfortunately, many blacks today have hindered their own progress by blaming "the man" for their socioeconomic status rather than themselves.

Racism in America has moved to the back of the bus. Desegregation and public shaming made that possible. It's largely episodic and situational today. Those that advance this notion of "institutional racism" not only ignore the fact we have a black president, they've neglected to realize blacks occupy government jobs more than any other ethnicity by percentage. Check out your local DMV, post office and Clerk of Courts, or look up the actual employment numbers. In short, blacks are the institution.

Perceived or real, racism doesn't have to deter you from being all God created you to be. That's why I've come up with five easy steps to eliminate racism, and here they are:

1.) Remove "conversations" on race from the national limelight: Have real conversations to resolve the problem rather than providing excuses to cause violence. There should not have been any protest in California over Ferguson, Missouri. I recently heard author and syndicated radio host Michael Medved attribute the success of the Jewish people, despite the Holocaust and anti-semitic rhetoric often heard across the globe, to their ability to shut up, forgive and move on. I'm paraphrasing of course. He confessed that when he meets with other Jews they hardly, if ever, discuss past atrocities that killed so many of his people. The reason is simple; doing so would unnecessarily resurrect emotions and issues that have largely subsided and been resolved. Victims can become angry people if they're unwilling to forgive and move forward; anger makes it harder for anyone to move forward. As long as you hold onto a grievance you will feel entitled to recompense whether it's justified or not.

2.) Stop with the "Color Blind" Nonsense: I know your intentions are well meaning, but it's unproductive. God enjoys variety and so should we. If he didn't he would've created all of us the same. We travel because we like to see different regions, ethnicities and cultures. There's nothing wrong with that! We're doing each other a disservice by perpetuating sameness at the expense of diversity-in the true sense of the word. Our differences can help us to appreciate one another if we let them.

3.) Learn from our kids: Martin Luther King Jr. succeeded! It's foolish to have "conversations" on race relations while ignoring obvious gains. America is less racist now, not more. Our kids aren't as concerned about who's racist. They're concerned about who is safe, trustworthy and fun to be around. Just last week I observed a group of teenage friends walking a dog together and enjoying each other's company. Two were white, one Latino and one black. Let's hope their college professors don't teach the minorities their best friends they've grown up with are inherently racist.

4.) Eliminate Political Correctness by confronting the cause rather than the symptom: It's beneficial to stereotype and racially profile, particularly when chasing down criminals and terrorists. We'll never correct the endemic problems in our communities without pointing out the obvious problems that exist within them. Single parent homes, absentee dads, promiscuous "baby mamas," joblessness, low high school graduation rates and high crime rates aren't going to be solved by pretending the American dream is nonexistent for minorities. Cause and effect is not a fantasy. Similarly terrorism cannot be contained by blaming Americans and Jews for Islamic hate. Like addiction, the first step to solving a problem is admitting you have one.

5.) Differentiate prejudice from true racism: Everyone has natural prejudices towards others due to fears, unknowns and stereotypes. However, most of us aren't racist! Prejudice can easily be overcome through education, integration and humility, but racism is largely a spiritual issue that deals with pride and other matters of the heart. Any conversation to be had on race requires thick skin coupled with an ability to discern between right and wrong. Jumping to conclusions rarely helps matters.

We shouldn't be so quick to pull the trigger on the "R" word; it might come back to bite you. That's certainly been the case for black Americans.

How about blacks obeying the laws we have in a civil society? No gang attacks on unarmed whites, no looting. That would be a good start. MLK’s non-violent stance would be a good example.

Five Easy Steps To Eliminate Racism In The New Year

Never gonna happen. Mass unemployment of the Professional Victim crowd and their enablers would ensue. Some politicians would lose their voting base.

Just two name two major roadblocks.

It is well written, and factual (to me it seems so)

This guy is likely going to be attacked and ostracized.

Iis sad that race remains a divisive issue in the country. In my lifetime - I am 66 - I have seen race relations improve steadily since the early 60’s up until the time Obama was elected, after which they immediately headed south. Rabble-rousers Rev Al, Rev Jesse, and Jerimiah Wright were the first to stir the pot. What we learned from them was: #1: Black people as a group are the biggest racists. Proof: Over 90% of black folks voted for Obama because he was black (at least half black anyway). #2: Black people are not loyal to the United States; ditto for Latinos. Proof: Jeremiah Wright’s “G’d damn America” sermons resonates with a significant segment of the black community. Latino groups like La Raza (The Race) are very open and vocal about their racial preferences and plans to take over the American Southwest. I once worked in a factory that hired a lot of Latinos, and I can tell you for a fact that a significant percentage of Latinos are illegals that are just here for the money and would not lift a finger to defend the United States during a national emergency. #3: Accusing people of racism is a good way to shake the money tree. Just look at Rev Al and Rev Jesse, who make a good living accusing corporations and people of conscience of racial discrimination, to be atoned for by a generous donation to their cause. Look at the politicians who fall all over themselves to roll out the welcome wagon to illegals, bestowing taxpayer-funded welfare and free public schooling and subsidized health care in the hopes of converting them to reliably dependent Democrat voters - just like black folks are now. #4: Sincere and conscientious Americans voted for Obama in the sincere hope that the racial issue would finally go away, but Obama has obviously made things much worse, stirring up old resentments and animosities for the sake of political gain whenever it suited him. Just look at the cop in Massachusets who “acted stupidly”, the Trayvon Martin case, the Ferguson riots, and recent statements to the effect that “America is racist” to cite just a few . #5: White folks are now the least racist of all the demographic groups in America and are in danger of being overwhelmed and rendered politically impotent unless they defend themselves. Eventually they will decide to fight back, and when that happens, it could get ugly. #6: It doesn’t have to be this way. If folks would just look in the mirror, repent, and return to their Christian faith, we could tone down the rhetoric and remedy what ails our Nation. In 2 Chronicles 7:14 God promises that “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” Believe it. I will get off my soapbox now.

God enjoys variety and so should we.

I enjoy Mexican food. I enjoy Chinese food. I enjoy Italian food. I avoid French food, for political reasons. I even like hummus on pita!

All those folks are welcome to enjoy good ol' 'Merican burgers, dogs and freedom fries if they want, or stick to their own chow. They're welcome to participate in our culture, their own culture or a combination of the two and any others they like.

They are NOT welcome to indulge in devil worship with human sacrifice (feminism, IOW), Islam or any other culture that calls for the death or enslavement of others.

Paragraphs & White-space:

HTML eats excess white-space. If you type two or more spaces in a row between words HTML will reduce all of the spaces and tabs to a single space or tab. Carriage Returns (the Enter key) won't do you any good either. Without special care it is easy to end up with a wall of unreadable text. It's quite cruel. If you want white-space beyond a single space you need to insert it explicitly by typing <br> or <p> for a CRLF and a paragraph, respectively.

Break <br> works like you expect Enter (or Carriage Return) to work. It gets you a single LFCR (Line Feed Carriage Return, just like an ancient typewriter). Two styles of break are in use, the preferred version (used in HTML 5) <br /> which contains its own closing tag. Paragraph <p> makes what follows into a paragraph set off by linefeeds. Neither <p> or <br> requires closing tag. The browser software will assume a paragraph is closed when it encounters the next <p>. Closing a paragraph actually makes good sense, closing a break seems like a waste of perfectly good characters.modulo the HTML gods referenced above.

Blockquotes are another useful trick. This entire paragraph has been enclosed in blockquotes. Anything you put between <blockquote> the example text <blockquote> gets indented and set off by linefeeds before and after. This example, rendered, will look like
the example text
the text above. Blockquotes can be nested (placed one inside another) and are a great way to distinguish the source of a quote from your own text.

Preformatted, or the <pre> tag provides a way to grab a bunch of text that is already formatted with tabs and spaces and not have HTML eat all that lovely white-space. As usual a closing tag is required with this </pre>. You can use this trick on a webpage but you need to realize that if the text you are copying wraps because it runs into the edge of the page and not because there is a CRLF present it will behave the same way in the preformatted chunk.

Horizontal Rule <hr> generates a horizontal line the width of the page. People often use this to separate their comments from those being commented upon. This also does not need a closing tag. A width can be set with this element, <hr width="150"> looks like:

Note that it is automagically centered. You can align="right" or "left" to position it explicitly. The usual caveat about using percentages instead of pixels applies so the preferred form looks like:
<hr width=10% align=left>
Which yields:

I agree. As long as people aren’t committing crimes against each other, it shouldn’t be against the law just to be “racist.” You can’t force someone to like someone else. We live in a world where a cop who said the “n” word decades ago is a worse criminal than OJ Simpson killing two people, and a non-black who shoots in self-defense is a monster, while some black thug is an innocent lamb. Enough with all this crap. It’s only causing more hatred.

5) stop listening to (who ever your pick for number five is) whites who hate Jews, hate blacks, hate "Hispanics", hate Orientals, hate Arabs, hate Frenchmen (oh, wait...)

Ok to hate Islamists and devil worshippers with human sacrifice (feminists, IOW).
