KS 3 Congressman Yoder's explanation for supporting Boehner
Kevin Yodder's office ^ | 1/7/2014 | Kevin Yodder

Thank you for taking the time to contact me in regard to the election for Speaker of the House. It is an honor to serve the people of Kansas in the United States Congress and I appreciate your input.

On January 6th, 2015, the House of Representatives voted to elect the Speaker of the House for the 114th Congress. As you may know, John Boehner was re-elected as Speaker. Speaker Boehner received a majority of the votes with 216 and Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) received 164. No other candidate received more than 12 votes. As such, this vote was a choice between John Boehner and Nancy Pelosi. I know that many Kansans did not support either of them for Speaker, but there was simply no viable alternative. I believe that it is important for the Republican Congress to show a unified front as we move to stop President Obama's liberal agenda, and that is why voted for Speaker Boehner.

With our leadership established and the Republican Party firmly in control of the House and Senate, it is now time to turn our focus to governing. I look forward to working with my colleagues as we implement our aggressive, conservative priorities. Our first steps will include authorizing construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline and pushing for a vote on the Fair Tax. In addition, I have reintroduced two bills to eliminate lifelong pensions and cut salaries for Members of Congress. I am further committed to stopping any executive action President Obama takes to grant amnesty to illegal immigrants. I pledge to carry on my commitment to the people of Kansas and our shared conservatives principles.

My staff and I are dedicated to providing outstanding service to our constituents. For real-time updates, please "Like" me on Facebook (facebook.com/congressmankevinyoder), follow me on Twitter (twitter.com/repkevinyoder), and visit my website (yoder.house.gov), where you can sign up for my weekly e-newsletter.

Again, thank you for taking the time to contact my office. I look forward to hearing from you in the future.

Sincerely,

Kevin Yoder

Member of Congress

This is the email I received from Yoder's office as an explanation for his vote. Typical! Time for a 3rd party.

“I know that many Kansans did not support either of them for Speaker, but there was simply no viable alternative.”

BS! There was no viable backbone among the broader membership.

well you didn’t really expect him to come out and admit he was afraid to vote against Boehner for fear of retribution if it didn’t work, did you?

That’s the garbage Lynn Jenkins’ staffer told me. I knew she was a Boehner girl and would vote for him. She’s going to have a nice committee appointment.

Yes. Time for a third party. But better than that, we should start a Kansas Conservative Party.

No, Yoder is more afraid of his constituents. He’s all for Boehner because they’re both liberals.

This is the same pukeage Mia Love repeated at her presser.

Apparently John Boehner's office gave all his new little bitches a canned reply to recite when defending their gutless choice to vote for him.

5 more votes would have forced another vote. That’s it.

Actually, he is correct. This election was not the time for a coup. This was a two horse race, Boner and Pelosi.

The question for Kansas voters is: who did this guy vote for in November?

November was when the Repubs conducted a secret ballot to decide who their candidate would be. Certainly prior to that it was important for new Republican members to quietly/secretly select a better choice. That was a time of no risk of retribution by Boner.

Two things out of this are bothersome:

First, there was no effective or concerted effort with regard to ousting Boner in November; i.e., any winner probably would not have been suitably experienced or adept at outplaying the Dems. Ergo, we may not be in as bad a position as it appears.

Secondly, if anything happens to Biden, Boner with all we now know about his character and personal habits is next in line for the presidency. Imagine that.

Same excuse Mia Love gave, as if Pelosi had been at risk of winning.

All the responses say essentially the same thing, just like the MSM they all make exactly the same points and they are never the conservative points unless they are described as extremest.

Another dirty rotten coward, worthless pile of dung. Apparently, they continue to believe their flimflamming will still work. No alternative he claims? His cheap excuse is an insult to our intelligence. First he betrays, then he insults us.

They're all reading from the same mimeographed sheet that Boehner's office handed out to them.

Many have mentioned the November secret ballot as the time for replacing the worthless Boehner. Perhaps so, but it is important to remember that it was after this vote that he and the “leadership” rammed CRomnibus (funding Amnesty and fully funding Obamacare) down our throats in the Lame Duck session.

This was the first time that Boehner could be confronted, and the Republican Caucus folded up like a cheap suit.

This guy is a mental midget.

Compared to the statements of some of the other Reps who voted for Boehner, this reads like it was penned by a 12 year old moron.

“Like” me on Facebook indeed.
