SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- San Francisco police confirm four African-American adult males were shot dead in a car in the Hayes Valley neighborhood at Laguna and Page streets.
Police say their ShotSpotter -- a gunshot location system -- activated near Laguna and Page streets. They said they also got reports of a car crash.
A lot of bullets flew on Laguna Street and some homes were hit. One bullet ended up lodged in someone's refrigerator.
There is no description of the suspect or suspects involved. Police don't know if there was more than one shooter or what the motive was.

Bullet hole in the fridge? What a conversation piece. I guess you can put a magnetized card over it with emergency numbers.

“Shotspotter?”
Thats how you know its time to move...
“Hayes Valley neighborhood at Laguna and Page streets.”...
“Street Rat ghetto area??????
Were they unarmed? On their way to church or nite classes at the local college?
Choir rehearsal. Nothing nefarious occurring.
Yep,can’t get gentrified soon enough.
Only bad thing, they will all run over here to the East Bay.
Let’s see....... that’s more than were killed at the gunfight at the OK Coral
I guess there will be five or six movies about this event for Black History month and maybe Al Sharpton day celebrations
Don't eat the cheese, there's lead in it.
Gee, I sure hope it didn't hit any beer!
Must have been a white cop, since that’s all that shoots African-American males, according to the news. Better check for powder residue on all cop’s hands.
Al, Jesse, and Eric on the way!
It used to be a nice area of modest flats and small apartments, and then the neighboring ghetto spilled over and drove everybody decent out of the area. Much of Hayes Valley, however, has been “reclaimed,” partially because there are a lot of performing arts institutions in the area so it was necessary to make the neighborhood safer so the audience members didn’t get killed on their way back to their cars. And of course, the property then became so valuable in the neighborhood that it attracted development, renovation, etc. and now it’s actually not bad.
However, the marauders still come in from time to time, and it sounds to me as if this was a group drug dealers or gang members getting rubbed out by their rivals. Glad nobody else got hurt!
These silly “gunshot” locators are “wonderful tools for Law Enforcement “, because they alert them to the presence of gunshots.
The reality is what good are they? Anyone with half a brain shoots someone, then bolts from the location, not sticks around for the cops to show up.
They spend money on this stuff and argue it has value to the police, when they are “after the fact” items which produce zilch in terms of usable intelligence. At some point the public has to start demanding the the police start showing results from the stuff that they buy, not the marketing pablum of the manufacturers.
ShotSpotter helps law enforcement to save lives, and enhance the quality of life in our communities. Bullshit, it does none of that. It sucks up real money that could be sent elsewhere more effectively.
Go to the ShotSpotter website, under gun violence resources you will see a sub-heading for “community organizers” “Reducing gun violence must be a core objective.....” blah, blah, blah. It’s meaningless blather intended to sell the product which does absolutely nothing but consume money and divert resources from other PROVEN law enforcement techniques.
Any politician who buys any of this junk should be charged with criminal malfeasance and dereliction of duty.
This stuff has zero value, zero deterrent value, zero perpetrator apprehension value.
It was a bloody afternoon as machetes, axes and cutlasses swung from every corner leaving pieces of flesh and puddles of blood on the streets of Omonia in Athens Greece. The Sudanese and Somalians shocked the greek community to their very bones as they killed each other with reckless crudity. It was a scene that could have easily beffited the 3rd Century when barbarism was at its peak.
The Somalians and Sudanese in Greece are notorious for their drug dealings and Omonia is where they base. Both communities have shared the territory peacefully and dealt their custom mutually until last week.
Trouble began when more and more drug addicts began to take their customs to the Somalian side of the dangerous Omonia area to the probable envy of the Sudanese dealers. As the trend continued, the Sudanese asked the Somalians to leave Omonia. Their odacious demand must have offended the Somalis so much that they returned the request with action.
That Afternoon, as business went on, the Somalians appeared in the Sudanese occupied area of Omonia in a cohort, armed with machetes, axes, clubs and cutlasses. Their Sudanese counterparts soon armed themselves in defence and the bloody and barbaric altercation ensued.
They cut, axed and chopped themselves to shreds.
We have them in Mayor Lovely’s Rochester NY. There is a flashing blue strobe light on a box on top of a telephone pole. In high crime areas these microphones will triangulate the gunshots. A teachable moment; don’t go through areas with flashing blue strobe lights on top of the poles. Another teachable moment; use sub-sonic .22 shorts when dispatching vermin.
