Whale oil is great stuff (at least for automatic transmissions). It was bloody difficult to replace.
I was told be a friend who has a long history at Wall Street, and working at a hedge fund, that as long as the market is ‘moving’, even if it is moving down, they can make money. It’s about change, and if you have a clue about what direction that change might be (or if you are the one causing the change) you can make money. For the rest of us, we are just along for the ride, hoping that things wind up in our favor.
