[...] JONATHAN KARL: But you're not for repealing the minimum wage. You think there should be a federal minimum wage. You're happy where it is now at $7.25 an hour?
SENATOR TED CRUZ: John, I-- I think it's important to look at who loses out. You know, we had a debate on the minimum wage just recently. And-- and I gave a floor speech on the-- on the Senate floor with three simple charts, $10.10, the proposed Obama minimum wage. And then the next chart Marco just referenced was $0.00 which is the real Obama minimum wage because when you have the lowest labor force participation since 1978 to the millions of Americans who have lost their jobs under the Obama economy that's their minimum wage.
JONATHAN KARL: No, I--
SENATOR TED CRUZ: And then let me tell you the third number I had up there was $46.98. $46.98 is the average hourly wage of an oil and gas worker in North Dakota. Dicey topic. My friends who own a store have always paid $15/hour, which, in their state, is $5 more than minimum wage “because we like having college grads working the sales counter.”
There really won’t be enough $50/hour jobs to go around, and there are few college grads working in the oil fields. I think.
I don’t know a solution that will work and will gain votes. How about building some infrastructure? Lots of roads and bridges in dangerous disrepair.
That $50/hr Average wage is not a starting one for those without experience.
And while there are some laborer jobs on bridges, I’m pretty sure more skilled workers are not only in demand but necessary. Of course Golfer-One may send a memo demanding illegal aliens, illiterate in two languages, and unskilled in any trade get set asides, while the sons of barry being only illiterate in one tongue have civil engineering jobs set aside.
So it is written, so it is done.
Gee, Ted Cruz is talking oil jobs,
and
the Queer-In-Charge is talking to close out ANWR from any human ever setting foot there, again!
I'd be ROTFLMAO but I'm crying.
Will the GOP never learn? Why have Jon Karl, long-time liberal media hack, MC an event with conservative panelists?
