I am of an age such that I am mystified at all the hoorah about measles. When I was young every kid got measles. It was just one of the things you did as a kid and then never had to do it again, like chicken pox.

Exactly. And all of my kids got the MMR Vaccination (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) so how are so many kids getting infected??? Does the vaccination wear off? Is this some new strain of measles?

•As many as one out of every 20 children with measles gets pneumonia, the most common cause of death from measles in young children.
•About one child out of every 1,000 who get measles will develop encephalitis (swelling of the brain) that can lead to convulsions and can leave the child deaf or mentally retarded.
•For every 1,000 children who get measles, one or two will die from it.

Measles may cause pregnant woman to give birth prematurely, or have a low-birth-weight baby.

The media is censoring the obvious illegal source, and are focusing their ire on the “Vaxxers” - parents who don’t vaccinate their kids, even thought they have been around for years, and only this year, after an unprecedented inflow of illegal children, do we get this outbreak.

Anti-vaccination crowd being blamed, but here we have a sudden onset outbreak at the same time and in areas highly populated by newly invading illegals, which is now just about anywhere in the us -—

The anti-vaccine movement has been around at least 10 yrs or longer ....why no outbreaks until now?

” The media is censoring the obvious illegal source, and are focusing their ire on the “Vaxxers” - parents who don’t vaccinate their kids,”

Correct. Illegals are bring back illnesses we eradicated 40 years ago.

In a small percentage of measles you will see neurological and pulmonary complications ....

Non vaccination is the left’s new celebrated show of concerned parenthood. Kind of like stripping off to breastfeed at Starbucks, but with more at stake

There are a significant number of kids who now are not vaccinated, in school on “waivers” based on parental objection to vaccines, and some of them will die in this epidemic and others will infect others including pregnant women. Measles is a killer, esp among a population that has no vaccine immunity or natural resistance

Don’t worry, the pro-illegals will be along shortly demanding you “prove” your assertions and will keep on moving the goal posts for you.

My advice...don’t feed the trolls by running down their rabbit trails.

Btw, I agree with you. Even if the anti-vaxxers weren’t being immunized, the only known host is human...

So the question that none dare ask is; Where did it originate in order to infect the non-vaccinated kids in the USA? /rhetorical

And we haven’t even brought up TB and Whooping Cough. Funny how those outbreaks swiftly disappeared from the “news”.

why no outbreaks until now? Maybe because of the Obama calculated mass resettlement of tens of thousands of unvetted unhealthy and unchecked illiterate minors into concentration camps and then bussing and flying them into communities all across the US - ya think?

Things have changed a lot since I, or even our children, were tadpoles. When is the recommended age for MMR vaccines now?

I know the survival rate for kids who've reached three or more is still near 100%. Under 3, I'm not so sure.

Measles was worse than chicken pox.

I think the first MMR is at about 12 months, then there are 2 more staggered at several year intervals. Most infants get some protection from their mothers antibodies if she has them

This of course leaves some infants very vulnerable, and the effect of rubella on the unborn babies of women who are pregnant and don’t realize it can be terrible- I remember this from the 1950’s

Measles was one of the diseases that had a lot to do with wiping out native Americans when the euros arrived

They are getting infected because loony American parents don’t get their kids vaccinated.

They in turn can be infected by an illegal Alien kid who may have measles.

It’s really the American parent’s fault for being psycho loony liberals.

In a small percentage of vaccinations you will see a number of different complications. Better the complications and occasional deaths from a government program than from nature, I suppose.

It is the “Vaxxers”, as you call them, fault.

MMR’s first dose is between 12-15 months. Second dose is between age 4-6.
