The U.S. news media has failed the American people often in recent years by not challenging U.S. government falsehoods, as with Iraq’s WMD
OK, why did Parry say that? Oh yeah; former Newsweek and AP guy. Ask the people in Syria about those “falsehoods”.
You also can order Robert Parry’s trilogy on the Bush Family and its connections to various right-wing operatives for only $34. …
Wow, thanks. “Vast right-wing conspiracy” redux for a great price.

As for the pice itself, he speaks a lot of truth about the situation in the Ukraine, but he himself puts his own credibility at risk notwithstanding.

Yes, if you can get past the Bush-bashing and the swipe over the WMD issue, I think he makes some clear points. The thesis of his article is that there are two sides to this story and we're only hearing one of them.

The fourth and fifth words of the title serve no purpose.

There’s often more than two sides to a story. In this case, to say that there are only two sides is to say that there is only Russia’s side and the European Union’s side.

A nice concise review of Russian propaganda.

The situation is really not that complicated.

Ukraine...a Sovereign nation...wants Russia out of it’s affairs. Ukraine has wanted this for centuries.

Russia needs Ukraine to survive.

Russia took over and is funding a war.

They are scared to death of a free Ukraine.

The views of ethnic Russians in east Ukraine are nothing more than Russian propaganda?

“Fu*k The EU,” Says America’s Top Europe Diplomat

In the leaked telephone call, first reported by the Kyiv Post, Nuland sharply criticizes the European Union’s handling of the Ukraine crisis and lays out the administration’s desired outcome for the crisis.

‘Ethnic’ Russians were placed there by Russia under soviet rule, and ethnic Ukrainians were cleansed and moved out of the area.

Having said that, yes, people in Eastern Ukraine want nothing to do with Russia.

The war is not an ‘ethnic Russian uprising’, it’s Russia sending in military, soldiers and weapons. There is nothing ‘insurgent’ about it.

It’s an attack on a sovereign nation.

So yes, it’s propaganda.

Most reliable sources indicate that ethnic Russians are not too eager to be forced to join Russia. Very little evidence of native Ukrainians of any kind fighting with the "rebels".

Not even the “group think” around Iraq’s non-existent WMDs was...

No sense reading past there.

The devil typically mixes lies with truth.

The sad thing is that Ukraine is once again caught between two burgeoning empires that care nothing for its sovereignty. And the US (under Obama), which is supposed to be guarantor of sovereignty for its allies, is doing zip.

Well, the opening mentioned the Iraq WMDs, so that nuked the rest of it.

They're fleeing to Russia in droves.

Ukraine cares about it’s sovereignty.

Russian’s have always played ally to the devil.

The US has always supported freedom, for 200 years.

Supporting Ukraine is nothing new for the US.

They voted in the election to support the current president.

If anyone wants to leave Ukraine to go to Russia let them.

Just because you have a Russian living in Ukraine, doesn’t give a Foreign country the right to invade and take it over.

That’s like saying Mexico can invade Chicago because there’s a few mexicans there.

Logic...it’s a wonderful thing.

Wow, that's a great point, Drew.

Similarly, all we ever heard in WWII was the Allied point of view, we never got to hear the Nazi side of the story. Same with "The Final Solution", we never got to hear the Nazi justifications for the genocide, just the Allied criticisms.

How did we ever survive such one-sided, biased reporting??

The views of ethnic Russians not in step with the Kremlin typicaly leads them to being hung up by their arms with chains in some basement, or else stuffed into a box and buried alive somewhere. The idea of a 'ethnic Russian view', as if this is a legitimate civil war, is laughable.
