CHARLOTTE, NC (Steve Harrison/The Charlotte Observer) - Allowing transgender residents to use the bathroom of their choice in restaurants, stores and other places of public accommodation divided the Charlotte City Council on Monday night.
The city is considering expanding its existing nondiscrimination ordinance to include protections for people based on their sexual orientation, sexual identity or sexual expression, and familial or marital status.
Much of the ordinance – such as adding gay and lesbian residents to a group of protected classes – wasn't controversial. But the bathroom question provoked a sharp exchange between council members.
At-large member Michael Barnes, a Democrat, said he was concerned about sending his children into public restrooms.
“If I send one of my daughters into a public bathroom, and I see (a man) going into that bathroom, I am going to have some concern,” Barnes said.
His comment drew a rebuke from Al Austin, a fellow Democrat. Austin said it was deplorable that the city and nation was still debating civil rights, 50 years after the federal Civil Rights Act was passed.
“Mr. Barnes, if you want to know about people being discriminated against because they are LGBT, it's a bad feeling going into a restaurant and being asked to turn around,” Austin said.

This is not satire, though it looks like it should be. Major fashion designers, since 2013, have been pushing men’s styles clearly into the female column. It’s called “gender blending” but it’s ultimate effect is more of a transvestite nature than anything else. When you first see this, it’s funny. Really funny. Then after you think about it for awhile it’s just sad. Really, really sad.

We need to get back to basics.
What is down there, between the legs? If you have a certain part, you go in the room designated for those with that part. If you have the other type of parts down there, then you go in the room designated for people who have those parts down there.
And this happens regardless of what confusion people have about sexual identity. If you have a penis, you go in the mens room. If you have a vagina, then you go in the ladies room.
So even if you think you are a girl trapped in a man’s body, you go in the men’s room due to having a man’s body.
Is this really so hard to figure out????

When I was in junior high in the SAN Fran Bay area, the big problem used to be keeping the older queers, from HS and older, out of the boys bathroom. We have certainly come a long way haven’t we?
If you began to think that you arm was “wrong” and asked for a doctor to remove it, he would rightly refer you to a psychiatrist. However, if you think you have the “wrong” sex organs and want them changed to the opposite sex, somehow that is considered natural and healthy.
I am female & over 75 years old. I am not a prude, but I certainly do NOT want to have a man enter the bathroom when I am in a commercial building, etc.
This mess is going to cost all owners of commercial buildings to create a 3rd bathroom & mark it with ???? marks.

North Carolina has some leftie nutbag enclave cities. Among these are Asheville, Chapel Hill, & Charlotte.
Most places there have a third restroom with a wheelchair symbol. Let the trannies & the GiBLeTs use that one.
