During many years of the Vietnam War about 100 GI's a week were killed. During Tet over 500 were killed every week..."

During World War II an average of 2,000 Americans were killed every week in the defense of Europe alone. The difference was that we were allied with the Russians in WWII and the American communists kept their mouths shut but during the Vietnam war the American communists were uninhibited in their opposition.

From the outset of the war in Europe the political leadership in the U.S. was committed to full mobilization and all out war while the leadership during the Vietnam war tried to fight a limited war with partial mobilization. The results were disastrous.

Do you have a source for that?

Are you thinking of a much smaller demonstration in NYC?

During that period I was not sure what I should favor about the Vietnam War. Then I read about the history of Vietnam which seasawed back and forth with North fighting South and vice versa, with a middle area sometimes independent or fighting in the middle. I decided that this war was 700 years old, and that Communism had very little to do with it, and neither should we.

It is not surprising that North Vietnam wanted Russian help, they have also had to fight China in the past. Albania and Yugoslavia wanted Chinese help, Cuba wanted Russian help. Always get help from the country that is NOT on your border.

Anybody else notice that since we changed the name of the “War Department” to the “Department of Defense”, we haven’t won a war?

I just noticed that some socialist troll had messed with my tagline. Hopefully, it has been corrected. Lee Sherman Dreyfus was a fine gentleman who I had the honor of meeting on several occasions. The liberal children at the UW hated him for calling them out for the pukes they were.

Meanwhile, we still have the "Ho Chi Minh Memorial gas tank" in Boston.

I grew up reading a local newspaper owned by a Marxist who attacked right wing preachers like Dr. Carl McIntire.

McIntire was on local Red Lion radio so I started to listening to the guy as the marches on Washington and later Arkansas to protest the pro-Vietcong position of Senator J. William Fullbright.

The crowds were big for what was called the “March for Victory”.

McIntire invited South Vietnam’s then VP, Nugyen Cao Ky to speak at a Washington rally. Henry Kissinger was sent to Paris and prevented Ky from coming to Washington.

I listened to the preacher on the radio and read newspaper stories about it.

Meanwhile liberal groups challenged the license of the preacher’s radio station WXUR on Fairness Doctrine grounds and the Nixon FCC agreed and shut down the station.

Fred Friendly wrote a book “The Good Guys, the Bad Guys and the First Amendment” with a chapter on the case.

I have no smoking gun saying Nixon retaliated against this guy but the best proof I remember is when McIntire read a letter of apology from a key Nixon aide.

Charles Colson wrote the letter from prison after he was sent there for Watergate and became a “Born Again Christian” as the cliché went.

McIntire always thought the case was all about payback from Nixon for opposing his “peace with honor” policy in Vietnam.

There’s a Wikipedia entry for Carl McIntire where you can read some of this stuff and more. Proud, vain and crazy, but still right about the notion that America should win its wars.

That’s something we haven’t done since World War II.

You don’t know that the left is an international movement, and that Communism was international?

Communists/bad guys are/were allied, we felt forced to allow Communist Russia to conquer and enslave so much of Europe, and we felt forced to be unable to defeat North Korea and North Vietnam because of Communist China.

Russia was trying to conquer the world and needed wanted Cuba and Latin American countries like Nicaragua to move bases and forces close to us and to tie us up in wars and struggles close to home.

Are you too young to remember the Cold War and how international Communism was winning?

I am old enough now that I am starting to think that we lost WWII, and that the true history of what it was about, will never be written.

WWII ended Western man and started the erasure of Western Civilization, from within.

His demonstrations were much smaller than 100s of thousands though, that one in 1970 is listed at about 50,000.

That was only a few months after an anti-war demonstration of 600,000.

His supporters believed at the time the numbers were larger.

But more importantly, his movement for military victory in the Vietnam War was backed by hundreds of radio stations carrying his daily broadcasts and the evidence points to the Nixon Adminstration being concerned about Dr. Carl McIntire and using its power against him......

“Thank the Devil’s Apostle, Walter Cronkite, and his purposeful false depiction of the 1968 Tet Offensive as a victory for the Commies rather than the unmitigated disaster it was.”

Yep, that gives Brian Williams a run for the money - but it was even MUCH WORSE, as it lead to the enslavement of tens of millions of people.

Of course I know that Communism was internation and supported by the far left. And I am old enough to remember that immediately after WWII I rarely saw my father in the evening because he was off at meetings trying to prevent Communists from taking over his local of an Insurance Workers Union. He was also a delegate to the New York Port Council, where he and others fought Communist attempts to take over the port of New York/New Jersey. In fact, I would not be surprised if the current West Coast dock workers strike might be partly caused by people who support Putin. There was a lot of Communist infiltration into the west coast port unions after WWII.

What I meant about questioning our wasting 50,000 young lives on a war we lost anyway is this. The wars between/among North, South and Central Vietnam had been going on for 700 years. We were sucked into this war by the French who wanted us to pull their colonial chestnuts out of the fire. “Communists, communists” was a good way to get us to commit to this basically nationalist battle. Calling themselves Communists was a good way for Ho and company to get Russia to commit Rubles to the cause. Then, of course, there were juicy tidbits like a billion dollar contract to develop Cam Rahn Bay. Was Kennedy killed because he was reluctant to plunge into this war? Just look at the juicy contracts Halliburton got in Iraq, and did a lousy job of feeding our troops. Now, the big reason for warfare is Muslim Terrorists. How about calling them Muslim Communist Terrorists, that will get us a nice increase in defense spending? Meanwhile, a lot of what is going on over there is the same kind of thing, a war between Muslim sects that is 1400 years old. Personal NOTE: I have a son with 18 years in Special Forces and 82nd Airborne, service in Gulf War I and two tours in Afghanistan, so I have been paying attention to this stuff.

“WWII ended Western man and started the erasure of Western Civilization, from within.”

‘The lamps are going out all over Europe, we shall not see them lit again in our life-time’, British Foreign Secretary Sir Edward Grey at the outbreak of the Great War, WWI.

In a lot of ways WWII finished the self-destruction of the West that WWI began.

You sure have some messed up history there, with more than just leftist conspiracies.

The French weren’t in Vietnam when JFK started our Vietnam war, they were long gone, and JFK started it, why would he be killed by your conspiracy where you say that he was reluctant?

It was Eisenhower that prevented us getting into the war after France left, why didn’t your conspiracy people kill him, instead of JFK?

Why do you use your son’s life to defend your own goofy conspiracy theories?
