My wife was watching TV News they other day and Navy Rear Adm. John Kirby was saying something and she asked “Look at all those medals, what are they for?”
I did not recognize them and tried to look them up. The nub of my research discovered that the current military gives medals for trying to “blow smoke up someone’s lower belch hole”. AKA as press agents.
I can not imagine what George Noorey the radio show “WACKO TO WACKO - AM” earned as a Naval spokesman. At least he does not brag about them and wear them on his Press Release photos.
We live in interesting times...
