Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) on Sunday did not let up in criticizing House Republicans who voted against bills to fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) since they don't touch President Obama's executive action on immigration.
"For these people to be threatening to defund the Department of Homeland Security at a time when our threat streams have never been greater at any time since 9/11, it's absolutely irresponsible," said King, the former chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee.
The lawmaker, who blasted "this self-righteous, delusional wing of the party" on MSNBC on Friday, stood stone-faced as votes piled up to kill a House measure later Friday to fund DHS for three weeks without touching Obama's actions. The House late Friday passed a one-week funding measure.
King cited recent attacks in Denmark and Paris, multiple beheadings at the hands of fighters with the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and the FBI's arrest this week of three Brooklyn men suspected of supporting ISIS as reason for quickly funding DHS, blasting conservatives who would hold it up.
"I said the other night at the Republican meeting, that they [are] all right self-righteous and delusional. And they just don't realize what's happening," King said on ABC, maintaining he is just as opposed to rolling back Obama's action on immigration, but that it should not come with holding up DHS funding.
"We're talking about maybe 40 or 50 people at most, out of a caucus of 247, out of a Congress of 435. We cannot allow such a small group to be dominating and controlling what happens in the United States Congress, especially at a time when we're confronting terrorism," he said.

Otherwise, even the illiterates would know that the pubbies offered up a plan to fund ALL but Zero’s anti-Constitutional amnesty and immigration “reform”. Lack of dhimmicrap support (likely orchestrated by Nazi Pelousy and her team) assured that the offer would not pass. Again, the dhimmicraps score the point.
As it is, jerks like Pete King, without the cojones to stand up to the administration, will continue to get the press that true conservatives deserve.
