A "Europe", no, a European Union, yes. I'm not sure Russia has the rubles to pull it off and I'm also not sure China will bother without insisting on collateral: a few islands, perhaps, maybe that strange marble building up there on the Agora...

Good assessment. Well said. From the late 1980s to now, from Slovenia to Ukraine and many lateral avenues, looks like Putler is in a corner.
Greece would put itself in a much poorer position with Russia in more ways than one. Okay port location for NATO but not absolutely essential. Not a very good port location for Russia (see maps, compare to Syria). Chances are, most Greeks wouldn’t like the idea, either (management problems for Russia).
In Greece the is no such thing as “a former Communist” when it comes to political leaders. They are still “red” under the toga.
Greece being expelled from NATO would create an instant sale of bases to the Russians and Chinese. Your bright plan of kicking them out is very short sighted.

100% agreed. They support ISIS, deployed the Gaza flotillas, and hurt our movements in the invasion of Iraq, certainly costing us lives.
Turkey in NATO is a cold war relic.
And not to mention Turkey is not free. You can be arrested for criticizing the president, and they arrest you if you refer to the Amernian genocide as a genocide.
Greece is different from us, but Turkey is REALLY different.

Anything that keeps Russia, its few defaulted friends and Iran busy is alright with me. Oil is under $43 a barrel now. We’re all stocked up from here to Norway to Japan and Australia. Let’s see what that conspicuous, promiscuous Russian junk will do.
