frankly ; who in their right mind would want to serve under THIS ADMINISTRATION , at this point? I am thankful for all the hardcore badass war-fighters that have trained up , kicked ass and served their country . Preserve your skill sets ! You will ALL be needed soon . I enlisted, to a short re-up and spent 5 years in service. Under today’s president I would not counsel anyone to join the military. In fact my son is reaching his 20th years as a Ranger and I have talked to him about retirement.

Yeah. And I am one of them. I tell every young person that asks about going into the military, NO. Don’t do it. Find a real job. That the military I served is not the military you would serve. The US government in charge of that military is not the same. This is a government that is rapidly on the road to becoming a totalitarian government. The nation is rapidly turning into a totalitarian nation. Run by thugs of communism. I tell them IF, IF they absolutely have to go into the military, find a job in the military that converts immediately to a job on the outside. Get job training that you can come out, then you can get a job outside. Go in for no longer than three, maybe four years. Only long enough to get that training. Come out as fast as your first and only enlistment is up. Then, be done with them. I tell them they lied to us about what we would get for our 20 or more years and it as evaporated like a cup of water in the Sahara!!
This is a true story but I will not reveal how I know it on a public forum.
A retired Army contractor that teaches counter terrorism was in a foreign country on some sort of excursion with active duty soldiers. There was an accident and one of the soldiers was badly hurt. It was not due to any enemy engagement but an accident involving a transport vehicle. As this young soldier lie there in pain close to death the CO would not call in a helicopter to evacuate him. He told the contractor he was not going to answer for the cost of such an operation. The contractor was horrified. The CO would not relent on his position. This contractor was a highly decorated former high ranking officer, very high. He made contact with another and pulled some strings to get this soldier the urgent help he needed. I am keeping these details vague purposely.
This soldier would have suffered long term problems if not death had the contractor not stepped in.
My son is 17 an has dreamed of becoming a Marine for many many years. I did not serve due to a eye injury I received in my youth but I would have if I could have.
This contractor told me in no uncertain terms he would not recommend my son joining after the incident I mentioned above. He said he never dream the day would come when he would see such a thing with his own eyes.
My son will most likely wait until after the next presidential election to decide to sign up or forget it. He is really struggling with this. He asked me yesterday if there was any way to know how the election would turn out
