On the other hand, dry humor is a myth.

Tell that to a publican in a newly dry county.

...dry humor is a myth

Now, that's settled science.
"Dry" and "humor" are incompatible concepts. My theory is that the expression "dry humor" arose when marginally literate people heard "wry humor" and attached the closest word they knew to that sound.

“Everyone needs to look farther than the Scientific American, however, to verify the observations of the evidence and evaluate any conclusions made about such observations.” No I don’t. And that would be “further” correctly written. Nonsense. Bulverism. Know what that is? I will not acquiesce to bulverism, ever.

13 Very glad to read this as I grew up with Brontosaurus as my favorite dinosaur back in the ‘50s and was very disappointed to learn some dozen years ago or so that they were dropping that name in favor of the boring name Apatosaurus.

Same here. The 1959 children's book above got me started that same year in my life-time interest in dinosaurs.

First the dino-deniers try to take away our triceratops, then they go after our brontosaurus. This must be stopped.

There is an argument that the only real planets are Neptune, Uranus, Saturn and Jupiter - all the rest are escaped moons ...

One of the three species, Brontosaurus parvus, means “little brontosaurus.” How little is little when you’re talking about a sauropod?
