Let the Russians worry about the Russians. All former soviet Russians to me. We have way to many of our own problems here and in the ME.

The Russkies killed around 7 million Ukrainians in the Holodomor-- rivaling the holocaust, and we turned a blind eye to it then too.

Not to worry. The Budapest Memorandum assured Ukraine that getting rid of their nuclear weapons (which were under Russian operations control) was the best move and the US and Brittan would have their backs in the event of trouble. It was agreed to by the Russians too so no need to worry /sarcasm

But the Budapest Memo was not a “treaty” (according to the Russians, which is correct). Much like the “promise” that NATO would not expand closer to Russian border, which the Russians claim was an ironclad super-treaty.

One can safely assume that anything signed by Bill Clinton is not binding.

It is about time... at least it is a start in helping Ukraine maintain its freedom and in helping Ukraine defend itself from Russia.

China? Obama’s idol, Chairman Mao. Also Fidel and Che. Norks? Left and right think they are nuts.

Our military has been gutted. General officers of value have been fired, sometimes in disgrace. What’s left is zer0’s butt buddies. I wouldn’t want any of my boys be in the military under this Marxist regime.

Talk to me after a year or so of a Cruz presidency.

Got it. Ignore the world until Cruz is elected. Sounds like a plan.

Both sides were promised stuff, because nobody wanted those darn Ukranians to have nukes. The US promise was definitely not a treaty. I don't know what the NATO promise to Russia was, but I assume a hollow promise to them, too.

Let's apply some logic here. Split Ukraine in half. If any surrounding country wants the western half, let them have it. Just keep the Kiev coup gov out of the eastern half, where they aren't welcome. If people aren't happy with the half they're in, facilitate a move.

Am I missing anything here? I just can't imagine how it doesn't escalate to a major war if US trained, armed, and advised troops show up in eastern Ukraine.

Another potential situation ready to blow up in our face.
WE pull out of Iraq leaving no good option other than to let all the elements fight it out, with the Shiites most likely to win out.

I think this is Obama’s strategy, “Let the Shiites prevail.”

Now we send troops to Russia.

This is going to end badly, but the good news, it will be right up to the election and erase any doubt about who should be leading this country.

And it ain’t the likes of Hillary.

Well I hope we have better luck than training the Iraqi Army. Seems like all they know how to do is run away from a fight.
