He has more sympathy for Iran than the US. He wants them to get the bomb, to right the imbalance of forces between the oppressed Mohammedan world and the imperialist West.
After all, if we had not raped and pillaged the MidEast (I'm not exactly sure when this actually happened), their young men would have jobs and would quickly abandon their terrorist ways.
