Republican congressional leaders have admitted defeat in their effort to thwart President Barack Obama's plan to remove Cuba from the list of state sponsors of terrorism.

Florida Republican Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen met with a number of her fellow lawmakers last week to strategize way to prevent the de-listing of Cuba in a bill she planned to introduce this week, but the lawmaker was told that Congress legally can't prevent the White House from removing Cuba from the list.

"We can't undo it. We just got the word from the parliamentarian: It's a no-go," Ros-Lehtinen said, according to the Miami Herald. She added that her draft legislation already had 35 co-sponsors before the decision was made not to proceed.

Yeah this new majority in both houses sounds like when we were in the minority. The voter mandate was clear. STOP OBAMA. Obviously they are paying no attention. I am not sure I am going to vote beyond Duval county where I can keep an eye on what they are really up to. I don't want to spend the rest of my life in that refuse dump at the top of Capitol Hill. The founding fathers are collectively shaking thier heads.

The Defeatocrats surrender without a fight again. There are many ways the pubbies could have opposed or crippled various Obama attacks on America, but they won’t try.

Hey, the Cuban commie pigs are Soetoro’s pals. We don’t need any stinkin’ list to tell us they are a bunch of murdering bastards. You can figure that out by who their friends are.

Apparently the donor base wants to be able to do business with the Castros.

So the Oligarchy ruling the US is a terrorist organization. Kinda explains a lot that has happened the past decade or so. Next up, they will steal our land and our busineeses, while putting those who complain in prison.

"Apparently the donor base wants to be able to do business with the Castros."

The oil and gas industry wants into the North Cuban Basin.

They can't drill there. Nor can oil produced there by others, including China, be refined in the US.

Remember all those stories back in 2006 and 2008 about China drilling offshore Florida?

The Republicans are nothing more than the Washington Generals, the hapless opponents of the Harlem Globetrotters. Like the Washington Generals, the Republicans seem content with the role of being perennial doormat and losers.
