>>to demonstrate its revulsion of “popular American culture” in those days (a dominant Protestant culture, for the most part)

The Roman Catholic Church has never been a church of the common folk. It is a church that celebrates wealth and power and the commonness of American Protestantism is the ultimate insult to an organization of hierarchical and professional priests who set themselves so far apart from humanity that they do not even marry.

Seeing that church being drawn to the Liberation Theology in the 1960s makes sense since the communist leaders talk the same talk: that they are of the people, but that they deserve better than the common folk. Obama and his Progressive ilk say the same thing, and behave with the same degree of blatant hypocrisy.

From where I’m sitting, cultural conservatives, especially on gay marriage, have taken the form of fish and placed themselves conveniently in a barrel for the libs to slaughter.

Great news that they have just begun to fight! I was worried there for a minute.

Actually, I thought the phrase came from some of his comments back in the 80’s and 90’s, where he described the Church as existing in small islands, relatively isolated.

That’s what the gay mafia—Bernardin, Wuerl, Dolan, O’Malley, Cupich—want. A church completely tamed and impotent.

The problem is, Obama is allowing ISIS to stream across the border. Sometime, while Obama is still in the White House, the signal will be given. At 2 PM Eastern Time, simultaneously, all over the country, some Tuesday, the knives and meat cleavers will come out, and Christians all over America will be beheaded. You can write the script for what happens next.

The persons who bear the most guilt for this are the Catholic bishops, because they had the power to sway America’s Catholics not to vote for pro-abortion politicians, and pro-abortion Democrats are 99% responsible for the destruction of the country. Obviously, RINO’s have helped them.

Joseph Cardinal Bernardin and his “Seamless Garment” followers in the hierarchy are fully responsible for propagandizing Catholics: Continue to vote for pro-abortion politicians. They will care for the poor. They will bring peace.

The Catholic Church faced off with the unbelieving Jews in Hollywood in 1933, and won. The Legion of Decency and the Production Code crumbled when the Catholic Church began to disintegrate during the Council. Both effectively evaporated in 1966, when “The Pawnbroker” was released.

The Catholic Church faced off with unbelieving Jews in the battle over abortion, and lost, because no one was willing to point out that the pro-abortion movement consisted almost entirely of Jews who were revolutionaries. Eighty-percent of abortionists have been unbelieving Jews. Instead, the Catholics confined themselves to reiterating that unborn babies are human beings, and are alive, as though anybody (other than ignorant 14-year-old girls) was unaware of those facts.

The Catholic bishops have spent the 45 years since the abortion battle started reassuring Catholics that it is their duty to vote Democrat. That’s why Wuerl, Chaput, Dolan, O’Malley, Cupich, DiNardo, Gomez, McElroy, and all but about ten bishops, insist that pro-abortion politicians must be given Communion. They are all on the government teat. They sell the Eucharist for taxpayers’ dollars.

I pray to God for the victims, myself included. It is very painful, God knows how painful. I am so sorry our country’s highest ideals of God are dashed nearly completely. We are wearing sack cloth and ashes in our hearts. Our brothers and sisters who are gone in the Middle East must surely have felt the same. May they rest in peace.

Come, Lord Jesus, come. Remember that scripture, which speaks to what you are saying faulting the fall of the priests and wolves; “If my people will fall on their faces and repent, and change their wicked ways, I will heal their land”? “My people”. That is us. The Church. We failed to repent as a people, his people, his holy nation.

Surely only God can intervene on behalf of his Remnant. He can’t be far away, as the world collapses, but America will not escape her chastisement. Do you follow “The Three Days of Darkness”? Thank you, Arthur.

I find it disturbing that both Catholics and Jews support uber- progressives, but I think it is probably true in the Christian church now. Christians and other non- Islamists are being slaughtered, raped and video captured, and yet everyone is more concerned with Hillary pantsuit. We are headed to Nazi Germany, and we are headed there quickly. Operation Jade Helm..

If you refuse to fight evil, eventually all you will have is evil.

And yet, Christ bade that we "resist not evil". Kind of puts us in a conundrum....

For one thing, some of the greatest saints in the history of the Catholic Church were "common folk."

Secondly, there's a perfectly good reason for a religious organization to eschew the notion that a democratic system of self-governance has anything to offer the world: There's no case in modern history where a religious culture has ever survived under such a governing system.

It's worth noting that "American Protestantism" (from a historical standpoint) is built on a very similar cultural model. This country was founded by a group of men who knew damn well that allowing "the common folk" to govern a nation would be an utter disaster. The U.S. was built on a different type of elitist hierarchy, but make no mistake about it: it was an elitist hierarchy. George Washington was one of the wealthiest men in the world even before he was elected as our first president. His Mount Vernon plantation covered 8,000 acres of northern Virginia, and he was a "noble lord" in every respect except a formal title.
