the hawks like to cite history in the form of Neville Chamberlain. they don’t like to cite history in the form of wars that didn’t work - Vietnam and Iraq. There are many lessons from history. One lesson is that war isn’t always the way to defeat a tyrant. Reagan never invaded Russia, did he? But he won the Cold War.

you think the public supports a war with Iran?

like they supported the Republicans in 2008, over the war in Iraq?

USAF action is war isn’t it?

So you think there’s no alternative than to go to war against Iran. Just wanted to be clear.

This isn't some debate about strategy or failed wars.

This is about the survival of your freedoms and your life.

You allow an enemy whose religion states it is ok to kill and subjugate their enemies, YOU, to attain the Nuclear Bomb, and you have signed your death warrant.

Wake up!

We either stop them or they will kill us, period!

I'll not be discussing this anymore with you, because as the bible states, it is not wise to cast your pearls of wisdom before swine.

“I’ll not be discussing this anymore with you”

Last words of the loser of an argument. But at least I got you to admit that Iowacornman was right and you (and Cruz) support a war

The public would only care about the Iranian issue if they thought that a) funding a war on Iran would lead to cuts in their welfare checks, or b) that the Iranians are a short-term, immediate threat to their everyday lives (such as beheading American Idol stars). The public just wants to engage themselves in MTV, drugs, and sodomy; they don’t understand or care about long-term threats such as a nuclear Iran.

Our biggest issue with Iran is that our ‘leaders’ are scared of making a giant crater out of the nation.

Certainly Obama has offered no viable alternative while he’s threatening to “go to war against anybody else” that tries to eliminate the Iranian nurse bomb factories, whe he’s also released billions of dollars to help finance Iran. Obama is making a disastrous worldwide nuclear war with USA as Iran’s primary target. That’s no alternative we can live with, it’s not even clear how many of us might survive it anyway. Now then, a few days USAF getting rid of the danger is technically an act of war yes. But Obama bombed the suit out of Libya which wasn’t threatening us, to make way there for his islamonazi friends to take over. Obama deposed egypt’s no threatening govt to put his extremely dangerous Muslim brothers in power there - and it was I think only a miracle that the Egyptians somehow got rid of it. Obama is sti trying to destroy Syria which while a hostile regime was under observation and “contained” to use an Obama term — it bring a govt which protected it’s Christians - all leading again to enabling far more dangerous islamonazis to seize power there - the guys that are slaughtering Christians, crucifying them, and burning them alive In cages. Obama tried his best to overthrow Israel’s govt too but amazingly the folks there wiser up — even today tho he’s illegally threatening a sorts of bad things there trying to force them to “agree” to take quisling commie leftists into the new Jerusalem governing coalition. We cod go on and on. Obama has committed acts of war or agression against a dozen countries or more - always promoting the worst imaginable islamonazi elements into power. Apparently USA under Obama’s regime is just perfectly fine with committing all sorts of aggressive acts anytime it promotes the very worst and most dangerous islamonazi terrorists murderers and thugs. But dare to suggest that America use its great USAF to eliminate a horribly dangerous threat to USA, and people say you (I) want to “go to war.” Sorry, but I’m not buying that style of argument. And the world is not a Girl Scout picnic anymore, either We either eliminate those islamonazi bombs and icbms now — or you can bet — Iran’s dictators keep insisting — there will be a Real war, one with huge American civilian casualties.
I’m too old to get excited. The younger folk will have to decide whether they want the USAF to protect their futures now from this growing threat - or whether they want to
Let Obama keep enabling it - or perhaps whether they just want to smoke some Hallucinogenic pixie dust or whatever that dope pipe Obama has is called? — and just go out “happy”. All the best, I’m outta here now. Take this in any direction you please. I’ve had my say. Fhc

Sen Cruz said war will be the result. He’s not advocating war. He’s saying that when you give a murderer a gun, you can’t be surprised when he uses it.

It’s only common sense. If Iran gets the bomb, so will Saudi. So will Jordan. So will Egypt. They’ll have no choice. It’ll make the Indian/Pakistani standoff look like a picnic.

If Iran is allowed to have the bomb, they will use it.

Sen Cruz isn’t advocating war. He’s pointing out the logical consequence of negotiating to give a murderer a gun.

Iran is no where near the existential danger China or Mexico poses to the future of America.

Ted wants war with 93 million people? I want him to go fight.

Chill out, iowaconman.

It's not war Cruz wants America to bring to us or even to Iran but the war Iran is planning to bring to America and Israel that has him worried.

Iran is the looming nuclear threat, not us. It is they who want to kill the Great Satan and the Little Satan.

We need a POTUS like TED CRUZ with common sense and understanding.

Proverbs 18:1-3

18 Unfriendly people care only about themselves;
they lash out at common sense.

2
Fools have no interest in understanding;
they only want to air their own opinions.

It sounds as though you don’t realize there are other uses for a nuclear weapon besides raining down bombs on another country. Iran is not in a position to bomb us directly, but they are now or very shortly will be in a position to detonate a nuclear device above our airspace which could trigger an utterly devastating EMP. Unfortunately, the U.S. has basically not taken steps to protect itself against an attack from the south. This from the Wall St. Journal a couple of days ago:

“Iran and North Korea have successfully orbited satellites on south-polar trajectories that appear to practice evading U.S. missile defenses, and at optimum altitudes to make a surprise EMP attack.

“The U.S. has no ballistic-missile early-warning radars or ground-based interceptors facing south and would be blind to a nuclear warhead orbited as a satellite from a southern trajectory.”
from http://www.wsj.com/articles/the-threat-to-melt-the-electric-grid-1430436815

So Iran is a threat right-freakin’-now. FYI.

Ted wants war with 93 million people? I want him to go fight. I want him to send his kids to go die. I want him to spend his money. But not my grand sons. Not my money unless Iran is crazy enough to attack my country and kill my children— like Saudi Arabia did on 911. I don’t like this bravado with other peoples lives and money. I don’t give a crap what a sovereign country does as long as they don’t mess with THIS country. Then we waste them into oblivion.

Public schooled? He didn't say he wanted war, he said what Obama and the rest are doing will result in war. He actually wants what you want - to "nip it in the bud" so there needn't be a war. When it starts,, it will go nuclear and we will be res-ponders rather than first-shooters - because they will do what Cruz says they shouldn't do. Stop being an alarmist twit.

I think Cruz was pointing out that a nuclear armed Iran who is pledged to destroy both Israel and the United States might mean that the U.S. will have to take steps to defend ourselves. How would you suggest we do that?

My son died defending this nation and he would do it again. I don’t have a lot of time for folks who want to live here, enjoy our freedoms, but want others to make the sacrifices, not them, not their sons or grandsons. My dad and three of my brothers also were in combat and I’m proud of every one of them!
