Tim McGraw doubled-down on his planned July benefit concert for gun control group Sandy Hook Promise several weeks ago, asserting that he was supporting the “Sandy Hook community” with the concert, despite the fact that the benefit only supports Sandy Hook Promise.

No surprise here since the drugstore cowboy and his wife are both big lyin' king fans. Thanks to Billy Currington for backing out. Sometimes a bull named Fu Man Chu gives you the horn.

Yes indeed. What percentage of country music fans are gun owners? They will hurt his pocketbook.

“I guess Tim has enough money.”

And armed body guards no doubt, that would complete the hypocrisy.

Yep, no surprises here. The man wasn’t fooled. He knows it’s a gun control group. He knows he’s not supporting the community. Just another lying, fascist, elitist.

***Pushes Ban That Would Outlaw Fans’ Favorite Rifle***

I shot my first M-16 in 1966. Fell in love with it.
Bought my first AR-15 in 1970.$200.00. Wish I still had it.

In the 1970s, gun stores mostly refused to handle ARs as there was no market for them. everyone wanted DEER rifles, and the gun magazines railed against them as being underpowered, inaccurate, plastic.

Then GUNS AND AMMO magazine started a series of survival articles by Mel Tappan (who wrote the book SURVIVAL GUNS)and was the first to use the word ASSAULT RIFLE.
Suddenly, the AR-15 and AR-180 were IN and sales took off like a rocket.
The RUGER Mini-14 was offered, then disappeared from the stores as all were being sold to France as police rifles.

How do the antis hope to stop the sales of such rifles as there are now more of them in public hands than the old 30-30 Winchester!

Personally, I find the Mandrell sisters (Barbara, Louise, and Irlene) more prettier and, as a bonus, are strong supporters of the 2nd amendment. Given that, I could care less about McGraw.

AR is accurate, but the .223 is by many standards underpowered compared to most large game cartridges.

the .30-30 you mention for instance

Fed 150g Muzzle Energy 1902 ft-lb

.223
Fed 64g Muzzle Energy 1322 ft-lb

If low recoil is a must.. the .243 win is better than the .223 at fed 80g = 1970 ft-lb

Few would call the .243 win a “power house”

Funny how we somehow manage to get rid of stuff only to do a forehead smack because we realize who much we liked a particular item. I had to stop the forehead smacking before doing any more brain damage. :>}

Apples and oranges. For what it's designed for, the .223/5.56 is more than adequate. Varmints and small game, absolutely. Deer round, borderline, depending on your expertise. Anything larger than deer, build an AR in a better hunting caliber like 6.5 Grendel 6.8 SPC, .458 SOCOM, or just get an AR-10 in .308/7.62x51.when talking about defensive capabilities, an AR in .223/5.56 is certainly up to the task.
.243 or 30-30 are still great rounds, when used with the proper ammo and at reasonable distances. To each his own. Vive la difference!

Tim should take a stand on his principles and declare that he and his
wife, Faith Hill, will not permit armed security at their performances.

Some day we will wise up, and expose the hypocrites for what they are.
