SR: I want him out there building his presidential juggernaut.

OD: That's what he's getting paid for with our taxes, eh?

Like I said, as long as he is in there making the difference we need him to make on the votes that matter, then he's done what we paid him to do.  How about this. Let's say the time he spends on senatorial business is on your dime, and the time he spends running for president is on my dime?  That way we both get what we want.  Right? :)

Peace,

SR

Ted’s support for increasing H1b is a deal breaker. Every increase in H1b immigration lowers salaries in the tech industry.

H-1B ping. Let me know if you're not on the list and want to be added (or are and want to be removed).

You probably weren't going to vote for him anyway.

Apparently that's your stock response to anyone who offers any criticism of Saint Ted. Why does primary season make so many FReepers act like d*cks to their fellow FReepers?

Maybe because we are done with the “lesser of two evils” crap

It's the stock response to those who show, in their posting history, a propensity to attack Cruz for any reason. And those that weren't really going to vote for Cruz.

I've got an agenda. I know who I want to vote for, and a bunch of people like me will work to make that happen.

Enjoy.

The Senate began a 15 minute roll call vote on adoption of S.Con.Res.16, stating the policy of the U.S. regarding the release of U.S. citizens in Iran. Final passage was 90-0.

You do realize that all this was was a resolution? Not a law, there were no punishments or anything that would harm Iran if they did not listen, but simply put, this resolution was more a PR Stunt than anything else, you do realize this, right?

I see you’ve been property schooled about the h1b visas, already.

Please tell us who your perfect candidate - that you will vote for - us.

As a tech worker in his fifties, and having seen abuses of H-1B visas firsthand, I would pick Walker over Cruz at the moment. There are millions of American tech workers who see this as a very significant issue for their economic well-being.

Then save it for the supporters of JebJeb or KrispyKreme.

I got the first script caller from the Cruz campaign this afternoon. Told her I’d give when I give (already have and will again), but she was pretty pushy (well, as pushy as you can be while stumbling over the script). The down side of contributing to ANY campaign...

Cruz proposes eliminating any financial advantage to hiring under H-1B by requiring salaries to match.

I call BS. Let's see the evidence for any one of the nine FReepers (so far) to whom you've made that response.

The law already requires that. Corporations have made a cottage industry of finding ways around it.

Go for it.

I'll keep doing what I'm doing, and that is advancing my agenda along with many others, voting and sending real money to Cruz.

Some won't vote for Cruz in the primary, and their posting history reflects that.

Too bad.

It's not mean-spirited to have a favorite and work hard to get that favorite elected.

“The huckster, Carson, Santorum and paul will take away from Cruz...not a good sign.”

I think it’s a bit more complicated than that. Santorum I think will draw minimal support and from what I understand, Cruz is actually drawing significant support away from those who supported Paul’s dad. They see Rand as highly wobbly on a lot of issues while Cruz is a consistent conservative with which they find quite a bit of common ground.

I am concerned somewhat about Huckster and Carson, but I think the debates and hopefully common sense on the part of conservatives will prompt them to rally behind a candidate that can win. In that category, there are only two as I see it — Cruz and Walker. I’m great with either one, but I personally lean more strongly toward Cruz.

.
Which means that the law is not written effectively.

Without Cruz, it will remain like that.

If I did my job in the military or in private industry by the same rules these politicians do, I would have been court-martialed or fired long ago.
