How the Clintons Worked the Angles in Haiti
Wall Street Journal ^ | 10 May 2015 | Mary Anastasia O’Grady

Posted on 05/17/2015 4:34:46 PM PDT by Lorianne

Within two weeks of Haiti’s January 2010 earthquake, the word had already gone out from the State Department that Bill Clinton would be in charge of U.S. reconstruction efforts. “That means,” one individual told me and I reported in a Jan. 25, 2010 column, “if you don’t have Clinton connections, you won’t be in the game.”

The “game,” as my source called it, meant securing hundreds of millions of dollars in no-bid contracts from the State Department’s U.S. Agency for International Development and grants from multilateral institutions like the InterAmerican Development Bank, which gets the bulk of its funding from the U.S.

The Clintons deny that Bill’s power over State’s purse was used to secure donations to the Clinton Foundation. But at least two contributors who gave more than $1 million as I described in a March 9 column, including the InterAmerican Development Bank, benefited from U.S. earthquake aid.

There’s a lot that didn’t get done. In the north of the country, the Clinton-proposed Caracol Industrial Park was supposed to feature some 40 buildings for apparel assembly supporting up to 65,000 jobs. It remains a mystery why there are still only three buildings in full operation and only 5,000 jobs, despite plenty of tenant interest.

Yet Congress was so scandalized by the dismal findings of a 2013 Government Accountability Office report on reconstruction spending in Haiti that it finally passed an “Assessing Progress” act requiring periodic reports on where tax money goes.

Congress is well aware of the Clintons’ runaway abuses. Its “sense” that foreign aid, “including” to Haiti, ought to be tied to the rule of law is an admission that under the Clintons established protocols to protect against corruption were tossed aside.

Tar and feather plus pitchforks and torches. The foxes have been guarding the henhouse too long.

As a nation, we have been totally screwed by both the present administration and the Clintoon administration.

I have doubts that we will ever recover…….

It makes the specter of another Clinton administration even more surreal.

The Clintons, Obamas and their minions have turned this nation into an open sewer.

This is simply how Third World countries operate. Government is a tool used by the elite to loot the country and keep the peasants in line.

Remember, it was a Clinton-BUSH initiative. Bush shouldn't escape scrutiny for getting into that hog wallow of corruption with the Clintons.

I think if Hilary is elected president the Nation will fail, it will just be to late, lest we have a military coup and I am ruling this out because obammie has replaced the entire upper echelon of the military with his pawns. The one good thing is the liberal socialist’s will eventually answer to God one day and they will all burn in Hell...
At least that is my humble opinion.

I remember when not very long after the earthquake that more money had been raised for Haiti than had been raised for the tsunami. Later the amount raised had been dumbed down to greatly much less. I always wondered if huge amounts of the money raised was quickly offend off and the new small amount then reported as what was raised.

What has gone on in Haiti has been purely criminal and it really makes me mad. Haiti is still a mess.

After the tsunami with Bush in charge they had lots of help, the money raised was apparently used wisely and the area was soon recovered.

You are right— remember all that nonsense about Bush Senior’s “adopted son” Bill. It’s almost like Senior abuse — taking advantage of the old man all for appearances.

And that the scum ball Clinton suckered poor old Papa Bush into helping him get money from the Bushes’ wealthy connections by appointing him as a co-chair of the Haiti Relief Fund was a shameful act of deceit. Didn’t the Bushes know what this craven couple was like after all their scandals?

I think there is a bit of “Clinton Fatigue” but mostly people are afraid of the brutal retaliation they will experience if they try to hold the Clintons accountable.

The media will savage you and I am not certain on this one but the Clinton machine may very well kill you. I can barely remember Phenix City, Alabama. It was the same thing on a much smaller scale only the media was not under their control there.
