Zinke Rolls Out Bill to Award Congressional Gold Medals to Fallen Benghazi Heroes

Rep. Ryan Zinke (R-MT) has introduced legislation aimed at awarding Congressional Gold Medals to the fallen heroes from the Sept. 11, 2012, terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya.

Zinke, a former Commander in the Navy SEALs, personally knew the two ex-Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty who died in the terrorist attack. Two other Americans—U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens and foreign service officer Sean Smith—were also killed by the terrorists. Zinke, his office noted, led the BUDS, or Basic Underwater Demolition/SEALs, training for Woods during his time in the SEALs while Woods was under his command. He was also personal friends with Woods and Doherty.

Well, if this gets through, lets hope it doesn't occur until after 1/20/2017. How much of an insult would it be for the families to have the awards presented to them by the lyin' king and her royal hind end the hildebeast.

Woods and Doherty, absolutely. From what I’ve read of their battle, they’d arguably be up for Medal of Honor if still active military.

The other two, while I’m saddened by their loss, appear to have been simply two guys who got murdered.

The whole notion seems to smack of the modern tendency to conflate victimhood and heroism.

And award Hillary and Obozo with an all expense paid stay at the luxurious accomodations of the Greybar Hotel.

Is anybody surprised Clinton or Obama didn’t think of it first?

If, IF Tester runs in 2018, Zinke is gonna run his ass out of Montana..

That’s probably the plan. Tester should never have reached the Senate in the first place.

Hope Zinke boots Tester’s keister. Rehberg’s loss was one of the 2012 election’s WTF moments.

Unfortunately, it turned out not to be as big a surprise as we might’ve thought. Folks on the ground were warning the party that Rehberg was blowing it (ditto with the ND Senate candidate, Rep. Rick Berg). However, in 2018, both Zinke in MT and Kevin Cramer in ND (who should’ve been the nominee in ‘12 instead of Berg, who should’ve run for reelection to the House) should both be favored to take out Tester and Heitkamp, respectively. If a Dem is President in ‘18, it will be practically guaranteed.

I was much more surprised by Berg “losing” to Heidi Heitkunt, who I mocked throughout the campaign. What a freaking name for a Senator, Heidi.

Both of them were bad candidates and yet, Berg lost only due to Indian fraud and Rehberg only because of the Liartarian.
