Just imagine being a Londoner in the summer of 1940.
Or a resident of Saigon in the spring of 1975.
I’m retired & done with the gloom n’ doom like some here on FR like to indulge in. Hey - I just made this up - “One’s level of optimism depends upon one’s abilities to deal with situations as they occur.”
The next step is reeducation camps.
Todays Democratic Party would view John F. Kennedy as a Tea Party nutjob.
The Democrats have been totally taken over by Bolshevik revolutionaries.
The Democrats aren’t just ‘’moving to the left,’’ they’ve been on a death march to the left ever since they passed ObamaCare, thereby alienating the vast majority of American voters.
In the 2010 elections, the Democrats lost a record number of Congresspersons; Nancy Pelosi had to give up her big Speaker-of-the House gavel and private taxpayer-funded airplane; and the remaining House Democratic Caucus came to consist of only members from the safest, most liberal districts, primarily members of the Congressional Black Caucus. And in 2014, the Democrats lost another batch of Congresspersons.
The Democratic party has become like Detroit — more and more liberal and self-destructive as sensible people continue to leave it.
“But in the last two decades the Democratic Party has moved substantially further to the left than the Republican Party has shifted to the right.”
Nice to see the New York Times has caught up to my “About” page, which goes with my tag line, and has been posted for about a year in the (probably futile) hope that SOMEONE either in a position of power in the Republican Party, or with access to Republican leaders FINALLY takes a look at it.
The next step is for REPUBLICANS to figure this out. They are ABSOLUTELY INSANE not to know this. As I note on my “About” page - the Republicans got nearly half of the Hispanic vote and at least 75% of the White vote in the south in 2014, which is why that election was a total wipe out of Democrats. And the vast majority of Republicans that won (again, with the help of Hispanics) were HARD CORE conservatives....yes, we can win that way.
Take those numbers north and Hillary will have to go home and then divorce Bill (to be with a real lover, whoever that may be).
Which way has the country moved?
Ask yourself this: Would the Congress approve the pledge of allegiance today? with the words “under God?”
I think that tells the story.
