Miami (AFP) - US President Barack Obama warned Thursday that climate change was making natural disasters worse, as he toured the National Hurricane Center ahead of the annual storm season.

"The best climate scientists in the world are telling us that extreme weather events like hurricanes are likely to become more powerful," Obama said on a visit to the facility in Florida, restating his case for action to tackle manmade changes to the environment.

"When you combine stronger storms with rising seas, that's a recipe for more devastating floods."

"Climate change didn’t cause Hurricane Sandy, but it might have made it stronger," he added, speaking about the storm which devastated parts of New York in 2012.

Physicist Howard Hayden's one-letter disproof of global warming claims [pre-Climategate]

Dear Administrator Jackson:

I write in regard to the Proposed Endangerment and Cause or Contribute Findings for Greenhouse Gases Under Section 202(a) of the Clean Air Act, Proposed Rule, 74 Fed. Reg. 18,886 (Apr. 24, 2009), the so-called "Endangerment Finding."

It has been often said that the "science is settled" on the issue of CO2 and climate. Let me put this claim to rest with a simple one-letter proof that it is false.

The letter is s, the one that changes model into models. If the science were settled, there would be precisely one model, and it would be in agreement with measurements.

Alternatively, one may ask which one of the twenty-some models settled the science so that all the rest could be discarded along with the research funds that have kept those models alive.

We can take this further. Not a single climate model predicted the current cooling phase. If the science were settled, the model (singular) would have predicted it.

Hey Hussein Obama: This hurricane season is a sleeper, in fact, it's hardly a season. Let's just cancel it due to lack of participation.

And Hussein, what do the leading climate scientists say about the data that shows we have MORE antarctic ice cover than ever before (using satellite measurements). Most people with a really high IQ would say that since our winters are getting colder (as measured by how cold I think it is, not what the climate "scientists" tell us it is), and there is more ice down south than every before, then just maybe, MAYBE their greenhouse gas "theories" are nothing but BS.

And Hussein, just why should America destroy their economy because of some wild "theories" that aren't tracking with observations? Is it because a guy named Hussein that tends to LIE a lot is not on our side, but is on their side?
