Writing in the Washington Post, Sheldon Whitehouse, a Democratic Senator from Rhode Island, offered a curious suggestion for dealing with global warming skeptics:

That's right -- a sitting U.S. Senator is suggesting RICO laws should be applied to global warming skeptics. Courts have been defining RICO down for some time and in ways that aren't particularly helpful. In 1994, the Supreme Court ruled RICO statutes could be applied to pro-life activists on the grounds that interstate commerce can be affected even when the organization being targeted doesn't have economic motives.

In February, Rep. Raul Grijalva, D-Ariz., attempted a McCarthyite witch hunt against climate scientists he found disagreeable. And Sheldon Whitehouse is sitting U.S. Senator. He's now publicly encouraging legal persecution of people who conduct scientific research and/or those that have opinions about it he disagrees with. He wrote this opinion in the Washington Post on Friday, and no one much noticed or batted an eye at the consequences of what he's advocating here. Such calls for draconian restrictions on speech are becoming alarmingly regular. And if more people don't start speaking out against it, sooner or later we're actually going to end up in a place where people are being hauled into court for having an opinion that differs from politicians such as Senator Whitehouse.

Because the Global Warming crowd are the ones trying to exploit money because of this supposed crises, wouldn’t they be the ones falling under RICO? Don’t know of one skeptic trying to make money over this controversy.
Seriously, even suggesting prosecuting people for holding certain scientific beliefs, or conducting related research should be grounds for immediate removal from office. It is not the place of government to dictate such things. We cannot tolerate any sort of “thought police” in this country.

Meanwhile Soros backed organizations are coordinating riots through the Black Lives Matter movement. Riots that have done tens of millions of dollars in damage if not hundreds of millions in losses.
