American’s generally do not know the meaning of socialism or communism, and to the extent that American’s do know what they mean, they tend to like the idea.

Furthermore, if Dave accuses Don of communism, the typical American will form a low opinion of Dave as he is, to them, a name-caller or some other negative thing.

Great observation on the state of our Nation, and our politics. My Nephew was complaining about the Illegal taking the “Starter Jobs” out there as a young man. I told him that his Father, and myself have the same battle with H1B visa competing, and driving our rates down. I told him that your a working man, and now that you can vote let me know when you find someone to vote for that Represents the working American Man. The Republican Grandparents were Not amused. Lol.

LOL, they will accuse him of McCarthyism, not that they even know who McCarthy WAS, but it’s just what they’ve been trained to say! /s;)

Back when I was in high school, we learned about communism. Do schools still teach about communism? If they do, it is probably how wonderful it is. Plus I grew up in South Florida and had friends who experienced communism first hand in Cuba.
