Yeah, I’m heading back myself. It’s one of the last strongholds of decency, a place we can make a stand.
Now we just have to hope that we can keep the progressive socialists out. Once they get wind of how great things are, they will desire to tear it all apart.
Not all parents have experience with curricula and teaching like homeschoolers do - seems like the perfect person for the job!
Good news.
The fact that "educators" doth protest so much underlines the wisdom of the choice.
We home-schoolers have very good reasons why we do that - and perhaps she can bring some sanity to the Texas public school system.
“Public school isnt for everybody, but when 94-percent of our students in Texas attend public schools “
94% ?! That’s a number allocated for blue states.
Maybe take Oklahoma along for the ride...
And in how many states have childless lesbians been appointed to this same kind of post with nary a peep from the treasonous rats in the media?
Nice... when will Texas succeed from the USA?
bttt
You mean succeed in seceding? ;)
If and when we jump this obviously sinking ship, we will have lots of company.
This ping list is for articles of interest to homeschoolers. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping List. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added or removed from either list, or both.
The keyword for the FREE REPUBLIC HOMESCHOOLERS FORUM is frhf.
Reminds me of NY. Many years back the lawyer for the State Dept of Education, was a homeschooler.
I’ve been in Houston all week on a business trip. I love this place.
selecting someone whose own kids have never attended a public school

Besides her professional credentials, this is what enhances her qualifications . . . I’ve been tutoring for the past year and it is a sad day in education. I don’t see very much hope.
“Maybe take Oklahoma along for the ride...”
Yes, please take us with! We need to preserve the Red River Rivalry. Cannot have it if we are in different countries...
And we only have two large (relatively) metro areas, and both are mostly conservative (not “blue”). Remember: we went all 77 counties against Obambi two elections in a row! And now we have a Republican governor, and both legislative chambers are now controlled (more or less) by non-Democrats.
Please don’t leave us in this demorat infested excuse for a nation...
Gov. Abbott is great. This man not only thinks, but he thinks ahead of problems before they rear their ugly heads. During the height of the spring rains in North Texas and before flooding was happening, Gov. Abbott ordered the Texas Air National Guard on stand-by, should air rescues be needed. They were and the correct personnel were in place to keep the natural disaster from becoming a tragedy. It’s not just his politics I find refreshing, but his practical approach to...well, everything.
Good. Say good bye to the hogwash that is taught in school.
I would say we use the rebel flag, too: Ironic that we’re told we cannot use it (cannot rebel) and then have the crap sandwich today (Obamacare) followed by the crap sandwich tomorrow (sodomarriage). Need that flag more than ever. Time to stop giving a rip about being called names. As ole’ Cooter said, it represents the indomitable spirit of independence as we’re “makin’ our way the only way we know how.” Zip, zero, nada to do with racism.
