WTF is up with these Greeks?

If their attitude is that they deserve a handout, let them all sink.

From what I can understand, it is their attitude. It is similar to a large segment of the population of the United States.

Squirming socialists and other losers are pathetic. Let them all sink or swim on their own. Who cares? What difference does it make?

Der Helga should just cut them loose. I just can’t see the EU bailing them out. That just gives the likes of Spain, Portugal and Italy the green light all of whom are nearing Greek economics.

Those stingy 67-year-old German workers aren’t paying enough to support the 58-year-old Greek retirees.

Nailed it. 1st world that has morphed into 3rd world. Gaming the welfare system is taught at the dinner table with a sense of righteous entitlement.

" Greece’s finance minister accused creditors of trying to "terrorize" Greeks into accepting austerity,..."

Talk about hyperbole. Terrorize? Really? How about the Greeks give up their failed socialist system and DO accept some "austerity". Short term pain for long term gain.

"terrorize" Greeks into accepting austerity

Kinda like the way a parent terrorizes his or her 25 year old son into getting a job and moving out of the house.

I can’t remember who said it, but it went along the lines of: socialism fails where the weather is nice, because welfare is more attractive when you can spend your days on the beach instead of stuck in an apartment in the snowy climes.
That was the reason why socialism went mostly bankrupt in South America and the Mediterranean but didn’t in the Nordic countries.
