US Navy says sailor injured in Tennessee shooting has died

I’m sure it’s misreporting in the early moments of a fast-moving story that everyone wants to get the details first. Initially, one news story said it was a female sailor that was badly wounded. Now, I see that’s not the case. Sometimes, it’s good to capture the initial reports and then compare them to the final, official story that is shaped by the media and its handlers. Lots of truth gets covered up in the final analysis.

I don't particularly care for the whole "wolf" image. A wolf is pretty noble animal when it comes right down to it. It just seems to me that giving the scummy muzzies a name like a wolf is an attempt at glorifying or romanticizing the situation.

I've been thinking about it a bit and I'd rather see them called "lone weasel" or "lone vulture" or something more descriptive of their actual status.

The sailor who died is Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Randall Smith.

He was shot 3 times.

He is an Ohio native and leaves a wife and 3 young (under age 6) daughters.

I’m sure it was reported that his wounds were not life threatening. Misreported or VA quality treatment??

I believe that he has always been reported as being in critical condition. I believe there is another victim who is still being treated but was not injured as seriously. Also, Smith was being treated at an excellent hospital.

I live 30 minutes from where the shooting occurred. Before a Costco was built that is closer to us, I often shopped at a Sam's Club that is just down the road from where the first attack took place. It is haunting to think about.
