The Third Obama Term
The American Spectator ^ | July 21, 2015 | Ross Kaminsky

Posted on 07/21/2015 2:55:17 AM PDT by Cincinatus

Pundits of the left and the right have spilled much digital ink on Donald Trump in recent weeks, increasing in recent days with his unconscionable comments about John McCain. (McCain is not my favorite politician but a fighter pilot who refuses early release from the Hanoi Hilton because other members of our military had been there longer than he had is by any measure a war hero.)

.....

But bad policy, bad hair, and a bad attitude aren’t the biggest problem with Donald Trump.

Trump’s political differences with the Barack Obama are, in most cases, stark. But I see a troublesome similarity in their personalities, one which makes both unfit to sit behind the Resolute desk.

Beyond championing one destructive and ill-considered policy after another, Barack Obama has an additional defining characteristic, one that makes him such a terrible leader of a democratic nation: he is a narcissist.

......

Donald Trump, like Barack Obama, sees himself as nearly infallible, above criticism, and not bound by the usual rules of the game. Each believes we should be grateful just to have him and each has been reinforced in that view by fawning admirers. Because of the two men’s shared devotion to the politics of personality, Donald Trump — just as much as Hillary Clinton, although in an utterly different way — would be the very “third Obama term” that so many voters across the political spectrum are rightly desperate to avoid.

It’s all bee ess.

The people who will give a third term to Obama’s policies are Jeb Bush or Hillary Clinton. They are approved by the cartel behind Obama and are desperately trying to prevent Trump’s ever running for President.

Not mentioning Trumps own life long leftward leanings.

But we have very little evidence Trump’s political beliefs diverge substantively from Hillary or Jeb’s.

Was Reagan a conservative all his life?

Do not discount the half breed himself running for a third term, despite what the Constitution says. He has shown utter disdain for the Constitution; he has defied the courts and Congress on multiple occasions; he is constantly fundraising (when not golfing) and, probably most important, what will he do with the rest of his life?

It’s bad to go against the “rules”. Never mind that the rules are there to ensure that the elites stay in control.

I think his 3rd-nth terms will be like Jarrett is rumoured to say they’re not leaving until they turn out the lights.

Would it be farfetched to imagine Yellin being told to raise rates say 3pts over 3 days right before the end election? Chaos. suspended election. Blow things up Alinsky-esque. 0bummer won’t be blamed just like Rush says.

In comes 0B saying for the good of the people he will put all back together fairly. Ah he has that economics and housing data in that nice black shiny but in Utah to help him with data on the best formula.

Yeah I don’t see a 2016 election.

maybe you should read more than the headline before you chime in...the author in fact said exactly that of Hillary - and there was no mention of Jeb at all.

You would find at least a few nuggets to chew on in there....but of course, that would require reading it.

Ah, gotta love the false choice straw dawg BS argument from the analogically challenged. Reagan was a conservative leader for more than 20 years before he ran for President. Trump? 20 minutes. Thou embarrasseth thou self with such flapdoodle.

Or put another way, where Trumps beliefs diverge from Hillary and Jebs - they have only done so for 15 minutes.

is amazing that people can change
Even overnight
Even on a road to Damascus

I was once a McGovern democrat so I guess I can never have a conservative pedigree

Would we sooner have someone who has been a squish RINO for 20’years Or someone who has been awakened by what obama did to this country in the past 7 years ?

That probably won’t even be a choice we are allowed to make but it’s fun watching trump embarrass the future squish RINO nominee who will be imposed by the GOP

We can see a lot about his personal character and courage in not groveling before the altar of PC

Who gas shown more character in the past 6 weeks? Clinton, Jeb or Donald? Rick Perry? Scott walker?

Are you missing the point on purpose? Are do you really not get it.

You were a McGovern Democrat...now you’ve seen the light. Good for you. I was never that stupid, but kudos to you for admitting it. That’s not the point. The point is, were you PREZ MATERIAL 20 minutes after you saw the light? OF COURSE NOT.

Squishing RINOs is a good thing, but that alone is NOT a qualification to be the nominee. IT just isn’t.

Will be no third term; even his momma tired of him quickly. America is tired of him, too.

Reagan raised taxes, cut and ran from Lebanon, and gave amnesty to illegals. In the eyes of certain Freepers, HE'S JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

Jesus associated with tax collectors and known prostitutes, and advocated being prompt on paying taxes. In the eyes of certain Freepers, HE'S JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

So how did it happen in 2012, when Bishop Willard was the GOPe nominee? because in the case of each and every candidate, the cry rang out: YOUR GUY'S JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

So just remember: if your signup date is not before Y2K, well...

So, what you’re saying is that Reagan and Trump are a valid analogy? I mean, I’ll wait to embarrass you until you confirm this.

And did Reagan raise taxes? Really? On balance, did he raise taxes? Tick tick tick.....
