John Dickerson and Frank Luntz attempt to square the fact that Donald Trump got a standing ovation for a speech in Iowa, in which he said John McCain was only a war hero, "Because he was captured."
FRANK LUNTZ: First off, all ten presidential candidates got standing ovations.
So yes, he is being accurate [that he got a standing O], but that is not actually what happened. The standing ovations for Ted Cruz, Scott Walker, Marco Rubio, the standing ovations for Huckabee, Jindal, were far more enthusiastic than the one for Trump.
Second, he does speak straight. He says it the way it is, and the American people are desperate. They want someone who is honest and accountable, the #2 attribute the America people are looking for is someone who says what they mean and means what they say, and Trump does do that.

Luntz is putz.
Luntz lied yesterday when interviewed by Hannity about Trumps answer to the praying to God question. He said that Trump did not answer. He did and it was noted here on the breaking news sidebar on FR.
Luntz did not like the answer so decided it is easier to lie about it than to address it.
#1 is honest and accountable, I think.
If I were to advise a ‘rival’ nominee of Trump, I still recommend finesse. Why join the Establishment herd like some ‘cookie-pressed’ open borders goon?
If a candidate were to visit our wounded vets, that’s who should be sought out regarding this controversy. And even with criticism, it should be pointed out how McStain is violating his oath of office — he is NOT upholding the Constitution, and the blood of innocents killed, raped, and [fill the blank] by illegal immigrants is on McStain’s hands as well as all who think like the creep.
Trump might have stepped in a cow patty, but at least he knows that we don’t have 57 states and not to say ‘corpse-men’. Even a Harvard grad and professor can say stupid things.
You could tell during the interview Luntz hates Trump. He had no business doing that interview. All he did was badger Trump the entire time.

So Luntz tricked Sean Hannity yesterday? Interesting.
I think Hannity should have taken the day off yesterday. Not his ‘a-game’ by any means. He loves his family, but he shouldn’t yap on and on like a buz saw when he doesn’t even know all the facts.
I should also take my own advise. Hannity is one of the ‘good guys’ who normally researches harder than everyone else. No one is perfect, ‘specially not me.
What is so tough about tricking Hannity even when he has his talking points in front of him?
Sure Hannity, or one of his staff, does the research, but like any research, what good it is when it is on a sheet of paper somewhere not at your disposal. If you are going to engage in debate, you have to know the facts.
Is his job easy, did not say it was, but when you have some talking head throwing out outright lies, you at least have to be able to counter them right away.

I don’t blame you for being mad at Hannity. I was too yesterday, hearing him repeat the same ‘advise’ a hundred times. But he’s actually one of the best researchers in talk radio, if not the best.
Actually, Wilkow is far better on the research and debating hosts.

Yep, Puntz has his own agenda. Tired of his little metered audience shows and other contrrived situations he creates. He is a political operative and not an objective player among the various Repubican factions.
