Donald Trump: 'Maybe people will get tired of me'

What could keep Donald Trump from getting the Republican nomination? Maybe people could get tired of him, the leading presidential candidate said Friday.

“I don’t know,” Trump said during a telephone interview with MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “I’m just chugging along. You know, maybe people will get tired of me. Who knows? This press is crazy.”

“The best way to win is to win as a Republican. I do not want to do independent at all. If I’m treated poorly, that’s one thing,” Trump said.

And if he doesn’t win, Trump said, it would be very hard to support pretty much any of the other Republican candidates.

“I may just sort of, like, shift off into the moonlight,” he said. “I hope that won’t be the case. I hope that won’t be the case, but it could very well be.”

Trump won’t be a long-term problem for the Republican Party, fellow GOP presidential candidate Marco Rubio said in a separate interview.

“Donald Trump’s not going to be the nominee,” Rubio told “CBS This Morning.” “These happen in these presidential races. These polls swing up and down.”

Trump also appears to want more attention from “Morning Joe.” He took issue with an earlier segment in which panelists discussed whether Ohio Gov. John Kasich has the “Jon Huntsman problem.” In that segment, host Mika Brzezinski pointed out, Scarborough talked about other candidates in that context but did not mention that Trump was at the top of national polls.

“Donald, you aren’t really that thin-skinned, are you?” Scarborough asked.

“Yes, oh, I’m thin-skinned,” Trump responded. “Oh, yes he is,” Brzezinski said, noting that her co-host and Trump are alike in that respect.

Later in the interview, Scarborough noted that many Americans support him on the border issue.

“And other things, Joe,” Trump responded.

Or, maybe they won’t... keep on telling more truth, Donald and you’ll keep heading a lot of lists

He knows. The Donald knows he's well into his 15 minutes here.

But he IS the Donald. And as such, he can always buy himself another 15 minutes of fame and start something else anew.

Tire of Trump, after decades of lies, deceit, fraud, diversion and evasion?

Not very likely. ☺

“I may just sort of, like, shift off into the moonlight,” he said.”

I suppose there’ll always be WWE Monday Night RAW to unobtrusively disappear off into if the politics don’t work out.

The feckless Republicans:

First they said they couldn’t do anything because they didn’t have the Presidency, House or Senate. Then they said they couldn’t do anything because Harry Reid was blocking everything in the Senate. Then they said they couldn’t do anything until the 2016 elections because Obama would veto. Now they are saying they won’t be able to do anything even with a Republican President because too many Senate seats are up for grabs in 2018.

They promised us they would defund Obamacare. All talk, no action. They said they would reduce regulations on small businesses. All talk, no action. More speeches, mo action.

Republicans control purse strings for 5 years through control of the House. What have they done? All talk, no action!

Thanks to Donald Trump, they are holding hearings on the hill focusing on the deaths of Americans by illegals. Thanks to Trump, many low information voters in this country who had never heard of sanctuary cities, or didn’t even believe they existed when they did hear about it, and now they know hundreds of sanctuary cities exist.

This is all happening thanks to one man, Donald Trump.
Trump isn’t making excuses. He’s getting things done.

Off-Topic a little but on Mike Gallagher there was a “Trump” impersonator, it was as funny as all get out and really sounded like Trump.

Trump is doing well and not only, NBC, Univision, wasn’t the California congress drafting some sort of statement against him? And he doesn’t back down.

Rubio’s right, Donald - you will not be the Republican nominee. Nor will Ted Cruz.

There is only one course of action if Trump and Cruz are going to be a force for the good of America, and that is go independent as a team and kick some butt.

It might be a long shot, but it’s our only shot.

Believe me - Jeb will represent the Republican party. Period.

"This press is crazy.”

I think Trump speaks in partial sentences which I'm also guilty of. I think what he meant was that all the attention is crazy.

If this is the case, then if he would ameliorate his tone and simply keep our porous borders on the forefront. My yellow-dog-demoRAT father-in-law even likes what Trump is saying.

The criminal immigrant/invaders are a huge issue for America, one that our elected officials dismiss because they, personally, don't have to worry about it seeing as how they have armed guards.

Exactly, that is why everyone is coming out of the woodwork pleading with Trump to “move on” to other issues. He is the one polling at #1, not them.

That's no surprise. It takes a better man than anyone else to get beyond old enough to be set in his ways and change so many political positions within a very short period of time.

Correction. The video is all about Scarborough and Brzezinski with Halperin speaking about Trump on the border in Laredo. No Trump interview.
