Re “Carbon Dioxide” being the main manmade pollutant causing global warming.

No wonder the publishing site is called YAHOO. They start off with a lying premise and build upon it with more lies and disinformation.

Court decisions carry the weight of law just the same as acts of congress.

The prez's constitutional duty is to implement, administer, enforce the law.

The question facing congress in 2009 was not whether or not they would regulate CO2, it was whether or not they would pre-empt EPA.

The reality of the situation was that in 2008 the GOP was all for pre-empting EPA but by 2009, because a great deal of power accrued to the dems in the Nov election, the GOP was in a weak negotiating position so they decided that would walk away from the deal that they won in 2008.

The GOP strategy of walking away from the deal in 2009-10 was based an exploding Tea Party that they thought that they could harness to return to power, after which they would have a stronger negotiating position.

The 2010 election worked out but the 2012 election did not.

CO2 is a colorless orderless gas. It is NOT a pollutant. It is a vital nutrient for plant life.

is it stupid to ask, then, will this cause natural gas prices to rise?

Carbon dioxide — from the burning of coal, oil and gas — is the chief greenhouse gas responsible for man-made global warming

So many lies in one sentence. We exhale CO2. We would be dead without CO2. It is not a pollutant. It is responsible for life as we know it

Heat-trapping pollution...

Unless they are talking about some thick, black sludge, covering enormous acreage; there is no such thing as "heat-trapping pollution".

This coal decline could easily be reversed. Coal is clean fuel and we have plenty of it. A dynamic energy market is a basic national security issue. The government can most encourage it by reducing its role in energy markets and letting the free market work.

If supply was constrained, probably.

But we have an issue of an abundance of available resource with a drastic decrease in drilling.

Coal is clean fuel”

Only with serious investment in pretty expensive technologies, right?

Can coal be made clean on the cheap?

It is clean, on the relative cheap. If they’re shutting down coal for CO2 production, they can shut down any human being for the same. CO2 is not a pollutant.

Carbon dioxide — from the burning of coal, oil and gas — is the chief greenhouse gas responsible for man-made global warming.

Do a search on that phrase and you'll see it's all a PR campaign for LIVs.

Carbon dioxide exists in the Earth's atmosphere as a trace gas at a concentration of about 0.04 percent (400 ppm) by volume. Yet, unlike that giant ball of fusion at the center of our solar system which accounts for 99.86% of all the mass in our solar system isn't having any effect. It is so large that about 1,300,000 planet Earths can fit inside of it. Earth is about the size of an average sunspot.

Yet, out of every 100 parts of our atmosphere .0004 is that nasty destructive carbon. How stupid is too stupid?
