Goobamint workers at their finest. Not liable, as they are part of the Idiocracy, a protected class. Oh, woops, we’ll just take some accrued vacation time or sick leave until this all blows over.

EPA, here is your fine, you are shut down and out of business.

Naw, if they fine themselves, then you know who will be picking up the tab. Nice angle, hefty fines that go to themselves, underwritten by the taxpayer.

Firings or jail time for those responsible?

Don't make me laugh.

No word on their ARREST and PROSECUTION for “ Crimes against Humanity”, is Congress holding hearings like they did with BP?, Have Massive Fines been levied against the perpetrators?? Shouldn’t Congress abolish this agency for the Crimes against the Earth they just committed.??

Yes, I really am. But the stupidity of our government is so over the top it surprises me constantly. Not an easy feat.

I have two kids living there, so it’s a little personal. What will they do for an encore, nuke New Jersey?

Was working at a site in the middle of the desert - nothing around for miles.

A low-pressure hydraulic hose sprung a leak and about half-a-cup or less leaked to the ground. We knew it was a big deal and dug down and put the damp dirt on some plastic. The gov’t guy called in the spill. The entire crew was shut down for the rest of that day and the next for the “investigation”. No fines or anything, but they sure made a big deal of it.

And when people write stuff about “over 1200 reportable spills in the Alaska oil fields” - this would be one of those types of spills.

OTOH - this spill into the river does LOOK like a big deal. Although the orange color could just be something not too bad - just unsightly.

I’d bet 10 bucks that this was an act of malice, and not one of incompetence.

Orange is the new Black uhhh blue babbling water..

Sometimes too much policy is a disaster in the waiting..

It’ll take a big el neener to flush this system..

And a bigger one to toss the EPA on the rubble heap of bad ideas and policies..

But a man can dream, right ;-?

Better question: Which Preezy will close the EPA down?

I’m not sure the EPA “did” anything (or does anything). I imagine any heavy equipment is run by an outside firm (like a drill rig to get ground water samples). The rig was driving along the dam, or perhaps even sampling the dam, too much weight, went side-ways, whatever and then the “oh crap” moment.

The EPA just destroyed a great natural resource. A lot of livelihoods will be severely impacted.

Animas River (Duranglers.com fishing guide website)

One of the last free-flowing rivers in the state of Colorado, the Animas River is a unique and rare treasure. With the newest and one of the best Gold Medal Water fly-fishing sections in Colorado, the Animas is a river that should be on your list of places to fish.

The Animas River is evidence of how human perception of the landscape has evolved over the past 250 years. Today the Animas Valley and the river itself seem alive, bountiful, and full of beauty. When Juan Rivera passed through this corner of Colorado in 1765, he named the river El Rio de las Animas Perdidas en Purgatorio, “The River of the Lost Souls in Hell.” To Rivera and his Spanish compatriots, the valley was remote, bleak, and had little to offer them in the way of riches.

I don’t have a specific theory. I know for a fact that the EPA and its bureaucrats are power mad, I know for a fact that this crisis and the Reichstag fire have parallels as to convincing the idiot population to scapegoat an innocent demographic, and I know for a fact that the EPA are highly successful propagandists (almost every children’s show features their propaganda). We underestimate their malice at our own peril.
