The correct answer is Two Billion Dollars.

Their claim of "Saving the Earth" is hypocritical if all they do is move the pollution to somewhere else on the same planet.
(Note: I don't believe CO2 is a pollutant but the greenies do.)

They are no better than OPEC demanding higher oil prices when unjustified.

And I got to subsidize the cost of that Tesla they love so much. And in fact they only make luxury cars that wealthy people can afford... So I’m subsidizing the purchase of luxury cars to wealthy people, people substantially wealthier than I... What a country... And you have no problem with that... Wow... It’s good for those who are connected... Not so much for everybody else...

My husband works with a guy who owns a Leaf. He can drive it to work, but then must charge it all day, at company expense of course, as it's a ‘green’ car. One day, he left for work in his Leaf and, 10 miles out, realized he had left something at home that he needed for a presentation. He went back home, but had to take his regular car as the Leaf would now no longer be able to get to work without dying. Electric vehicles are a long way from being the silver bullet that the Greenies think they are.

When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion - when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing - when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors - when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you - when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice - you may know that your society is doomed.

Im shocked to see that a corporation is trying to make as much money as possible. Taking subsidies is not making money. It is an admission that your product is not actually viable.

I agree. A luxury or performance car shouldn’t get a subsidy. Write your politician. I don’t see why Musk should get the blame. People can buy a Leaf if they want.

You may not like his tactics, but make no mistake, his product is very viable. Eventually all cars will be electric.
